KeymasterThe problem is there are not further suggestions.
Your did your research wrong. Your kit is limiting at best and almost all hardware samplers today are for music production only and even those go away, because software samplers are much more intuitive and work with any midi keyboard.
Also your whole kit does not support midi-sync so synced samples will never work with it.The only thing you could do is get a good laptop and buy into something like NI Maschine and try to mix that in. However it will never sync to your sound, all sampling has to be done maunally and you need a laptop to run it.
All other samplers, especially hardware for production, are 5000+ bucks to buy.
And by doing all this you are mitigating that your gear is simply outdated and you are trying hard to introduce something to your gear that you get FOR FREE with any 200 bucks controller and its software.
So I am sorry but there is not perfect solution for your problem as your gear is outdated and outclassed by todays standards… (take it from 2 DJs who have more than 20+ years experience each and started out with consumer turntables and self soldered mixers…)

KeymasterYou should always get the software with Maschine. It is bound to the hardware, soundy phony to me.

KeymasterHow can we ignore it???? Since Grandmaster Steve is involved we cannot ignore it!
Hope all is well with the account 🙂Terry_42
KeymasterBest suggestion: Sell the DJM900 and the players as long as they are still decent in resale value and get a DDJ-SX2 or DDJ-RX and a laptop.

KeymasterHey and welcome!
Ah what a great country 🙂 I lived in Toronto for about a year and sadly my contract ended, this would have been a city where I could have imagined myself staying forever.Terry_42
KeymasterI totally agree with Todd, although I had to edit his post a little 😉

KeymasterThe MCX8000 it is a fully featured Serato Controller, but if you detach the laptop you can still DJ from USB sticks that are prepared with Denon Engine Software (similar to Pioneer Rekordbox).
The Denon is actually even better standalone than the XDJ Pioneer series as it allows for 2 separate Mic channels and built in F/X are 3 channels each side. Plus the whole thing is fully Serato DVS compatible if you ever want to add turntables.
So I had no chance trying this controller yet, but it is damn sexy as deathy put it and it may be the top thing for Serato guys to get.January 20, 2016 at 8:58 am in reply to: Allen & Heath Xone:K1 "User Mapple Faders" Serato Dj #2341401Terry_42
KeymasterMake sure that the K1 is in Midi mode and that the latest firmware is installed.
Then make sure you have enough USB power with all those things attached, you might even run into a Midi Channel problem, so the channels used by the K1 might overlap with Maschine the AFX or whatever. Usually there is a channel guide in the manual.
Midi is only 256 channels so if you used that up, you need to get rid of something.Terry_42
KeymasterHonestly most rental companies in my areas sold their CDJ gear as nobody wants it anymore. Most pro DJs (and I do not mean endorsement contract high sellers, but professional working mobile and clubbing DJs with a reasonable income) have their controllers now. So most rental companies switch to PA and stage mixer rentals and bring your own controller.
Except one high profile one (that I use mostly) they now have 2 DDJ-SZ controllers they rent out.If it is a size thing I totally understand, standing in the 6 meter booth of the Octagon my controller (Terminal Mix) felt a little small, but if you go towards the full size options (DDJ-SZ, DDJ-RZ, NS7 III, MCX8000) you have the size of CDJ systems but are not limited to the functions and can still use full Serato and are still WAY cheaper than a Nexus setup.
Even a DDJ-SX is not that small anymore and way bigger than the mixtrack pro you have and looks way more professional (and is). Some other DJs (myself included) fill up with additional gear, so second time around I filled the booth not only with my controller but for live performance I added a reloop Neon, second laptop and NI Maschine, 2 midi fighters and a faderfox… you get the idea. (Actually van Dyke uses a similar setup)
So when you get a loan for something it means you will have to work for it afterwards, in my opinion then you should invest in gear that will hold up to the tests of the future and not invest in obsolete gear that in 2 years time nobody will even want used anymore.

KeymasterAlso the Engine software will soon get an update, stay tuned for that.

KeymasterIf you want to buy outdated obsolete equipment then save a little more and buy something even more expensive that will limit your creativity…
