Another good resource / blog is Stu Robinsons http://www.cosmicboogie.co.uk
But i’m biased because Stu is a good mate of one of the best and most modest DJ’s im proud to be a friend of, Adam W (Wilson) If you pop over there look for Adams mix in the guest section..

Lenovo T61p here, 4gb ram, on this i created a dual boot partition
Windows 7 for laptop fart about duties, browsing, youtube, facebook internet radio etc, then i boot in to XP for traktor 2 and VDJ..
Id never run any DJ software on Vista or 7 on any laptop , XP SP3 is so much more stable, better latency, less quirky.
In fact i have had sound drop outs lasting half a second or so with the MIDI connected while booted up in to Windows 7, this has happened on Compaqs and the Thinkpad.

My desktop runs DJ software happily in Win 7… but that’s a birrof a monster

Nail on the head Emma, There is a blog somewhere out there in Interweb land, where they invite DJ’s renown as masters in their chosen field, and ask them to come up with a set totally from leftfeild – Hardcore DJ’s doing 80’s new wave sets, Trance DJ doing funk etc etc… ill rack me brains and see if i can remember the address but i’m promising nowt!

It just makes me chuckle how some dumb people consider calling someone gay is an insult, Bro..
I’ve been chatted up loads of times while out in clubs in Manchester by gay men – even when the wifes been right at my side, i consider it a compliment 😀
Had some really good & interesting conversations follow on from that ice breaker too, it all counts to having a good night out in my book!
(for the record i aint no Brad Pitt body double either)

I shoved paper into the caps of a Numark analogue mixer where the caps were loose, cured it permanently, its still going strong now
