KeymasterI am not sure I can say more than this review by phil:
http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/01/allen-heath-xone-dx-review/The soundcard in the xone is excellent, you can play any gig with it.

KeymasterHi James, welcome to the forums.
Well Manchester is a tough city. I was there once for a warmup party to a Gary Numan Gig in Manchester Academy. While it was quite fun, I think there is a lot of competition and surely not easy to push through there.
Although you have some sweet and nice little pubs, I stayed at the Salutation and it was quite fun heheKeep spinnin’ and welcome again.

KeymasterI remember Numark building really bad CDJ clones and having real bad build quality… they make excellent gear now, even in the lower price ranges. I remember Hercules Consoles that did not even hold up a week and now even the 80 bucks thing you can actually DJ on…

KeymasterFor Traktor in that price range prolly the digital jockey 3 is a good choice and can also work as a standalone mixer, which is a plus.

KeymasterI only played with it for an hour or so, but I was impressed by the integration into Traktor and the awesome build quality. However it is huge, but that is a plus for me, as it is by no means cramped and you have a real good feeling using it.
Even for a non Traktor fan like me it was a blast to use.Terry_42
KeymasterHey Nicko, that is one exciting story to read. I am looking forward to more posts on the forums and give you a warm welcome.

KeymasterHey hey great to have you here!
Terry_42
KeymasterWell I liked it. I watched it as I tutor some kids in DJing and wanted to get some didactic out of it.
The way Phil does it and goes from the very very basics up to your first gig is a really nice setup and he really gets it done.
I think this is an excellent thing to spend your money on as it will give you a solid base of DJing. It will not make you a controllerist or instant star, but you will have all basics down and can easily DJ any venue if you learn all the stuff presented there. I use the basic structure of his course in my tutoring sessions now and it works like a charm.Terry_42
KeymasterActually the most money I made was with 2 songs in 2001, the singer released the songs as a promo for free on her website with a donate button and as she sang and wrote the lyrics we would share 50:50. We got far more from the donate button than from the CD release of her album 😛 The irony is not lost on me hehe

KeymasterUsually not my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed this mix. It was refreshing. Thank you.

KeymasterNice mix, well done and cool setup. Keep it up.

KeymasterOk while Traktor Pro does a good job with autogain, I have disabled it and could replicate your problem on my TM4 with Traktor Pro 2.5
Now the usual way other DJ software works if it autogains you gain knob is “offset”, so you have to to to the point where the software gain is at and then start adjusting. However Traktor ignored me 🙂 but did it the second time.
So I do not know if this workaround would help you in Traktor LE (and it is quite annoying) but what I did is: Turn my gain to the matching point looking in the software and then wobbling around that point 2-4 times and then setting it right.
Maybe you can give that a shot or maybe one of our Traktor Pros can give you a better workaround or setting.Terry_42
KeymasterWell I like the camelot scale style of MiK and write the results in the comments tag. Works like a charm.
Of course you strictly do not NEED it, but some things in there are nice to have. I also found that the bpm that MiK detects on songs where VDJ or Traktor have problems with detection, it does a better job and hence helps you gridding the song.Terry_42
KeymasterYou may want to check out the controller guide:
http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/12/dj-midi-controllers-buyers-guide-2012/and then re-evaluate. In the end it is about personal choice also.

KeymasterThey are both 2 quite different beasts. The S4 is designed purely for Traktor and offers very tight integration and Traktor fans really love it.
The Denon is of course also built with Traktor in mind, however integration is not as tight as the S4. However the Denon offers A LOT in a small form factor and has its fans for being hugely reliable (Denon has a good quality reputation) and small form factor. Some say it is a bit too cramped… the Denon is also often used with other software as it does a really good job in VDJ also. Both controllers have some mileage in them and there are some promising newer controllers also that cater towards Traktor. You may want to read some reviews in our blog to get more information about your choices.
