Have a look into getting that collection converted into digital mp3 format then look at possibilities surrounding decks/laptops. Otherwise CDJs are the norm even with controllerists on the rise!

    Thanks Gulli!

I will save more and try go for an i5 version that is more future safe! I need an iPad first (looking at ipad 2’s) so looking into incorporating that into my mixes once my denon mc3000 arrives 🙂

I have seen a decent macbook pro for around £500 i may snap up its got i5 with 8gb ram and 500gb hdd so will be good! But generally speaking I have looked at the top end laptops (thinkpads, pavilions) and productivity is almost half of what a mac gives out i must say! And thats coming from a windows user!

I saw it but the reloop jockey 3 remix is relatively new so its a bomb, almost £500 in places. I will look around in more places though as it does look a beast!

Cheers I’ve checked the s2 out its lacking on the build quality side of things, of which the denon seems better for me but tbh I may just get the denon, master traktor and then maybe add a maschine or x1/f1 to the setup.. Except the s2 is there anything else in the £400 budget?

I need a last minute bit of advice. I haven’t as of yet ordered the denon mc3000 which is my current best choice option but before I take the plunge is there anything else in the traktor controller line a bit better for a bit more? I paid almost £300 for the n4 I have traded it back in so maybe £100-£150 on top is the most I will spend so what could I get with that? Traktor controllers of course but if they work with other softwares that would be a huge bonus!

I would check the thing out before you buy it to make sure its all working. The last thing you want is it too fall apart on you after 2 hours use.. I think the best way in the djing game is to learn everything and best put your work to use on the thing you will get the most out of!

Basically im doing what your doing now, I first and still do have a hercules mp3 e2 which was what I learnt on but then i wanted to upgrade so got a numark n4. Problem with that was it was supported by serato until the summer and really I brought the wrong thing for me. Today I’ve sent the thing off and am getting an mc3000 which was my original choice so my words of advice are be sure of something 1 million percent before you go for it otherwise its not worth the hassle and messing around.

As for software its a personal preference thing, but personally ive played with the big 3 (vdj, serato and traktor) and traktor has wowed me to getting the mc3000 so have a look. But be willing to learn new software as they all have pros and cons but when you get a feel for one you like you will know. My advice is try them all and whatever you like best go for!

Check out the Denon MC3000 aswell, I have done all the read ups/reviews and it seems the best for functionality with traktor/vdj for the money. The TM2/4 are built well too and deserve a look as Nick as mentioned, Although I’ve gone for the Denon and when it arrives in the next week or two I will post my thoughts if you want to hear them. (I was choosing from the TM2/4 or the Denon MC3000)

Doesn’t sound like the house in the charts and normal house you hear in clubs maybe its a sub genre of house (maybe minimal house)

Yeah its different from when you did it have a look at the register part of the site alex aha, I may just put n/a in the parts I dont have. CD Pool is good i’ve seen it used by ellaskins on youtube, but im after mp3 downloads really. DigitalDJpool I use I recommend it but it only has newer stuff so if I try look at older stuff it hasn’t got too much, plus its only good for hiphop/rnb and some chart stuff :/ I’m looking into just buying the mps collections (house/deep-house/electro/dance/chart – loads of different collections) you can pick up on ebay for like £10 a month unless there are better services online for around £10 a month..

That mix is awesome, what genre is this? I’m completely oblivious to this amazing genre! May I add the progression through the tracks is what makes this mix very smooth!

On the software there is a parameter visual knob left of the fx’s in the top left/right corners only in the software. If this is 0% thats your problem put it to 50% this should do the trick if not we need a more advanced traktor user’s opinion!
