Thanks I see your point. As of now I have few followers residing where I currently am.
Maybe I should focus on constructing some mashups with vocals from famous top40 songs with songs I dig? Somehow pull them from the known with mashups, to less known territory, and throw on some acapellas over the tracks?
It’s just frustrating spending this much time finding music I love, building a big bank of songs for every occasion, and then have it all torn down in seconds without any power to correct it :/
As for my playing; it changes depending on what I play. If I want to keep energy up I do bass drops building on previous track and skip drops to keep the energy up. This time around I let the breaks play out and I think that was when I lost people. A 30s -1 min break emptied 1/4th of the floor was only 20-30 ppl dancing out of 200ish anyway from previous dj).
