ParticipantAlso if you concerned about the big name artist/DJ, have a short chat with them before the gig, just to make sure they dont have this “Who the heck is this noob DJ, setting up all this crap thinkin hes a big time superstar” attitude
Ya know just in case …Lamid45G

ParticipantChuck made a really good point on handling out the physical CD,
I did exactly that a few weeks ago at one of my gigs, hands out CD’s to this VIP guests, when the gigs over, i start walking out to the parking lot, I came across that guests, standing chillin around his car, I smiled and shouted at him, “Hey you like that CD ?” , he replied and pointed to his car CD, smiled real big with his thumbs up, “Listening to it right now !”Lamid45G
ParticipantThere is not much you can do if the original quality of the tune it self is 128, bringing it up to 320 or 323203230230 wont make no difference because the source material you used for
If there is no other way to repurchased these tunes again in its glory quality, guess the last resort is just to trust your ears
I would try to venture on the DJ Pools (you only mentioned beatport/juno/itunes, these 3 sources lack in older disco tunes), some DJ Pools offered a variety from old era

ParticipantI tot unreleased stuff by what you meant is by more less known artists, the artists you mentioned is top artists, sooooo be a good idea to get their legal permission first
Just because its unreleased materials doesnt mean its ok, especially the material came from the very known artists

ParticipantIt is makes me wonder also, when i browse thru the Beatport top 100 Derp House, why none of this didnt sounds deep house at all ? and you Sir is on the spot when you said it sounded like regular house / soulfull house, where is the real Deep House ? it boggles me
