I take minimum specs by manufacturers pretty seriously. They generally tend to go as low as they can while still guaranteeing proper operation. It’s in their best interest if the most people use their software. So if they say 4GB minimum, I wouldn’t risk my good name on trying it on a 2GB laptop, especially as 2GB in a laptop generally means it was manufactured in a time when that was still considered a decent and sufficient amount of RAM. And it hasn’t been for a long time. Meaning the laptop probably has other components (video, processor, etx.) that are also of an other era.

If the laptop is more modern than I now suspect, upgrading to 4GB shouldn’t break the bank. I can get 4GB of laptop memory for little over 15 euro these days. If your laptop can handle it, you could even go for 8GB and still not break the bank.

So based on what you (haven’t) told us, my advice would be to check the other specs of your laptop too. And if it’s (too) tight, consider buying a new/other laptop. If the other specs all fit, consider upgrading the memory.

If you want more help, give us more info.

In my test: It will run for a time and then hang itself with 100% CPU.
