MemberI love that picture it’s amazing!! 😛 – Hey Soulphinger, i’m a female DJ, been doing it for about 2 years now and it’s literally my life! If your misses is looking to get into it and has an undeniable passion and love for music like the rest of us, then she will pick it up in no time. 😉
As many have stated.. DJing isn’t the hardest thing to do in the world but if you have the drive and motivation you can really turn it into an artform.
Just keep telling her that there will be times where she will feel like she’s ‘stuck in a creative rut’ and there will be points where she’l get really frustrated, but all that hard work and practise will pay off and before you know it.. I’l be teaming up with her to be the next Kemistry + Storm 😉
Hope this helps!

MemberHi Guys Thanks very much for your responses, i definately see where you’re all coming from, but i don’t think you understand just how difficult it is to get gigs in my town. As i said the club that i DJ at is the ONLY club that plays EDM music and because there really isn’t much of a scene and its never massively busy in there, there’s not enough profit coming through to be able to pay the DJs as well as host the night so it’s kind of out of the question really. I do want to get paid but i also want to be able to live my dream and play as many sets as possible. But if i refuse to play unless i get paid then i’l never be asked to play anymore 🙁 It’s a no win situation really! If i was getting offers outside of my city then i’d have a much better chance of getting some pennies thrown my way. Hosting my own night would be a good idea, but again faced with the same problem in the sense that it’s never going to get busy enough for me to be able to make any income! Urghhh its really frustrating but i don’t have a choice at the end of the day 🙁

MemberThanks very much guys, i will be recording a new mix soon as i’m going to be entering a Drum and Bass DJ competition! Knowing that my choice of song selection for this one is pretty good, it’s definately given me some ideas for my next one. 😉 I’m going to get it right this time though! Can’t afford for any beats to be out of place if i have a chance of being selected!

MemberThanks FleXE! Yeah i know the beats were off slightly a couple of times, but as you said it’s alot harder when you can’t see when to drop a track in 😉 Will be working on another one soon though for sure, with lots more of the dark heavy stuff! 😛
And Fic – Thank you very much buddy, i know its not everyones cup of tea but i appreciaited you taking a listen! I definately feel much more confident now i’ve played out a couple of times 🙂

I came from a heavy metal background, all forms of smiling and dance music was my arch enemy. Times really change.
Me to i still do love metal music! Think thats why i quite like dubstep cause it reminds me of it in a sense lol.
