Thanks!
Beware, I live!

I was born in 86 so the game was before my time, but it’s a classic that was way ahead of it’s time IMO. It was the first arcade game ever to feature stereo sound and a 49 way directional joystick. As a programmer, it completely blows my mind what they managed to accomplish in 1982!

What is your current hardware/software configuration? There’s likely a way to jury rig audacity to work.

I spin lots of hardcore, hardstyle and, Drum and Bass sets. The only place with an actually up to date selection as far as I can tell is imorecords, but they’re pretty expensive as their prices are in Pounds. Though, I used to get some really good vinyl deals from them. It was still cheaper to ship it all over than to buy at stores here (which never had that style of music anyways).

I’d personally go with the HD8’s (even though they’re way more expensive) just because I wear glasses and on-ears like the HD-25’s, the legend that they are, destroy my ears. I can keep ’em on 1 hour max before the pain hurts too much. Over ears I can wear all night 🙂

I agree with D-Jam. I mean, you should probably not ask them when they’re in a transition, but if a DJ doesn’t want to spread the music they play to others then I have to question their motivations.

I’m always happy when someone asks me for a track ID, it means I played a real banger that someone liked so much they want to buy it!

Thanks for the info, Vintage!

I’d love to be able to find that case around here, but living in Canada pickings are slim and overpriced unless you want to pay $300 to ship a $350 case 😛

I did find an odyssey coffin for $358.99 CAD, I’m not really sure if they’re a good brand or not.

I kind of want one of those ones with a little slide out table thing to put my beer on, but that’s not that important 😛
I guess thinking about it, that could lead to spills O_O

I’m just glad I’m not taking my turntables anywhere as well 😛 lol.

I have the same setup and it’s pretty great IMO. If you get a copy of Traktor Scratch the dn-x1600 has a built in Traktor sound card and the SC2900s work in midi-hybrid mode as they call it with Traktor. It’s a bit of a pain to setup, but it works and you can be into the world of using software with just that.

The X1600 is also a full MIDI mixer so you can assign traktor controls and sliders to it if you don’t want to mix externally (not sure why you wouldn’t, but there you go).

Worst case is you really, really need performance pads beyond the hotcues, but you can just go buy a Kontrol F1 for $200 and you’re set.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

In case anyone else is interested here’s a few songs I’ve found or knew about:

Scott Brown – Ghosts, Cat# EV63
This is a 2003 classic and a rip from a vinyl in my collection, I could only find it for sale on Amazon if you’re looking to get a digital copy. It’s all the way gabber so if you’re not into that well… it might sound a bit much 😛

Scott Brown – Boomstick
Another Scotty B. track, but he makes good tunes. Also, I LOVE Army of Darkness. Again, real gabbery.

ZombiEaters (Hallucinator Remix)
I’m not a real fan o this song, I think the Original is way better; but this has more of a “terror” feel to it, you know? I can’t help but notice everything has been really hard up to this point lol. I like that gabber sound for a few songs, but find it can be too much for a whole set.

Koznik – Zombie Virus (Veak Remix)
A bit too on the jump up side of D&B for my liking, but it fits the halloween feel I’m after. I can probably just do a quick mix through it.

Anyways, not entirely in love with the last two tracks on this list lol.
