    an iOS version of Serato so I can throw like 25 tracks on my iphone and bring it to work with me and set cues and beatgrid etc while at work….

    A seperate FX bar (section) to better utilize Traktors effects….and a higher price tag.

    Phil if you could get a hold of a 2x CDJ 400 + DJM400 setup and compare that to the DDJ-S1 that should make for a pretty straight comparison. You can even run the 400s as midi controllers to control software.

    I think 2x CDJ1000 + DJM 800 is a much more “real world scenario” though.

    The true question is will you be picking up the VCI-380?

    I have heard confirmation (and if I see it I will be eventually be picking one up) that the VCI-380 can be mapped to SSL. The offical SSL mapping will be released shortly for all the buttons / knobs and I heard that the old Denon hack can be used to map the platters of this unit!.

    This of course still requires RANE hardware…

    Yeah the longevity of mixers and such of the past is pretty much out the window….

    And with that being said… the NS6 is still about as good of an Itch controller as you can get. I don’t believe numark will be looking to replace it any time soon.

    The Vestax VCI-380 looks promising too (I may pick one up) if you don’t need the 4 deck option for Itch..

    Nope. My personal goal is to be able to show up anywhere and rock the house whether its with my controller, turntables, cdjs, or on the Djay app on the iPhone…

    The girls getting down on the dance floor don’t care what format you are using. I promise you.

    Installing directly from Serato download shouldn’t be the issue…

    check http://www.serato.com forum, you will get a quick answer there.

    Do these Vinyl enthusiasts use Cell Phones when in public even though there are still Payphones if they want to be purists?

    I do agree that there is a difference between playing on a controller because you HAVE to vs you WANT to…

    My only issue with serato/itch….

    I own a NS6…$999 msrp. Built into this price from numark is the licensing fee for Serato Itch. Most Itch controllers have a heafty price tag (which is justified because it includes a lifetime of free software upgrades).

    Now, I am going to be traveling and want to pick up a smaller footprint VCI-380 (another $999) …and guess what I am going to have to again pay the inflated price due to the licensing fee of Itch being rolled into the controller by Vestax….

    I too agree that Serato will combine Itch/ Scratch live at one point…leaving DJ intro as their LE with a way to upgrade.
