    Sweet looking Venue bro.
    I’ll start you off

The Wanted – Glad you Came (Alex Guadino & Jason Rooney Club Mix)

    Opening Lyrics….

    “The sun goes down
    The stars come out
    And all that counts
    Is here and now
My universe will never be the same
    I’m glad you came”

Decided to just stick with the NS6 as the mixer and save up for a nice Rane TTM…
PS everything is hooked up and working…just a few more cords to hide.

Only thing left to do for right now is get a new black table cover (I had a 4 foot but upgraded to a 5 foot table)
Butter rugs and M44-7’s should be here for the weekend so I can start scratching…

DDJ-S1 is going to be the controller that most closely emulates a pair of cdjs and a mixer.

Controller vs CDJ vs Vinyl …nothing is “beginner” or “pro” in that sense.
With concern of cost…a controller can probably get you up and running cheaper/faster than the other 2 methods though.

Who will you be taking “lessons” from? I would check what format that person uses first.

I love ths NS6. I would only reccomend the DDJS1 if coming from CDJs and you really love’d the setup because it is the controller that mimics 2x CDJ and a mixer the best.

That being said, the NS6 is also a 4 channel Itch controller and 4 channel stand alone mixer.

Depending on how long your set is going to be prepare a setlist accordingly, and make sure you know each and every tune to the boot. Otherwise you’ll be digging through your enormous library trying to find the next tune, and not paying attention to the more important stuff like mixing, feeling the crowd and, yes, having fun yourself.

+1 I also thought that went without saying…

What setup do you currently have?

I’d get a Serato Itch controller if you don’t already have one because they will be releasing a plugin in March to allow video mixing and it looks pretty sick.

Using CDJs for the first time…
    http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/over-to-you-help-i%E2%80%99ve-got-to-use-cdjs-for-the-first-time.1320/#post-8560

As for using your Music with CDJs…
Depending on which model CDJs they have installed you may

    1) Need to have your music on CDs if you don’t have a DVS or their CDJs don’t have USBs
    2) If you have DVS/Scratch live…bring your laptop and play off that
    3) Bring your music on external harddrive/usb stick(s) if their CDJs have usb port

No, Itch will not work with CDJs

Let me know if you have any additional questions or I may have missed something.

    Regards,
    Vince

It’s really not the quality so much as its an extra $150 compared to the mixtrack and a seperate USB soundcard.
This is the one I used with my Mixtrack when I had it and there were no problems.

Shop around, I got one Manufacturer Refurbished for $20

Also note that I was using this with a new MBP13 OSX LIon and DJAY4 software by algoriddim.

The big guys has not joined “the dark side” not yet anyway so there is still hope 😉

I thought Porter Robinson just rocked the S4, but I could be wrong…
Your point is still clear and valid…I was actually just trying to think.

For file management in iTUNES many people use the “star rating scale” for Energy levels of Tracks.

    1 Star = warmup
    5 Star = banger

Using a similar scale that works for you (along with genres) may help you to filter into more manageable chunks.

NS6 meets all of your criteria except that it is 4 channels. You don’t have to use them though.
And it’s not the smallest controller, but I don’t think the size is unreasonable.

I would get the mixtrack instead of the mixtrack PRO if you already have Virtual DJ PRO
$100 vs $250 (you can get a seperate usb soundcard for less than $25)
This leaves you $125 do spend/save on other gear. Do you have headphones yet…spend the money on that.

    Best of Luck.
