ParticipantI like the mix. It seems we have a similar music selection / style.
Check out this Electro House quick Mix I just did.

ParticipantWadih,
I have just recently started to use the NS6 as a standalone mixer for my 1200s, but have yet to start messing with the EQs.
Do you notice any different with the NS6 when using with itch vs as a stand alone mixer?Regards,

ParticipantIf you plug the Mixtrack in and boot up Virtual DJ Home, it will let you use it (with full functionality) for a 10 minute period and then stop working. This resets every time you close Virtual DJ Home…
This is not very practical and I am sure you will end up upgrading to one of the other Versions.

ParticipantDerek,
I’ll shoot you a little synopsis when I get home from work. Keep an eye on your inbox.

ParticipantThanks for the feedback I really do appreciate it.
To answer your questions.
I started “DJing” about 6 months ago, although I don’t think I was producing anything without any substance until recently. I started with a mixtrack pro for about 2-3 months then got my NS6 in December and picked up the 1200s about a month ago.
As for the music, I’ve been a top 40/ Hip Hop fan for a long time and just recently got into EDM and Electro House, so my music library is not as deep/robust as I would like it to be so I am trying to catch up as I go…

ParticipantHey Onaci,
Welcome to the site.
Where in Philly do you play? I’m in NJ and venture out to Philly often…

Rip CDs to 320kbps in iTunes
For vinyl you can pick up a USB Turntable fairly cheap and record right to your computer.Either way, it is a very time sensitive project as you are constantly swapping records/cds…
(Not to mention if you aren’t ripping the full CD and only selecting certain tracks)VinnyBlanc
ParticipantMixcloud is less stringent than SoundCloud on “copyright infringement”…I expereienced this first hand when trying to post up a Mash-up recent. Kept rejecting it on soundcloud because it was keying on the Avicii – Levels…so I went to MixCloud and didn’t have an issue.

ParticipantI was super excited when I saw this too and then just realized it doesn’t fit my playstyle as I don’t have time to hold it up in the air for the crowd and spin it around…
On a serious note, I still may consider one as I like the multicolor leds and the addition of the Bank buttons up top is pretty sweet. I would never use the GYRO though…

ParticipantWelcome back….
What was your previous Analogue setup; and what digital setup did you switch over to?
VinnyBlanc
ParticipantHere is a case that I highly reccomend. You may want to look into either a portable table (more stable) or one of the cross stands you mentioned before but I think they are typically for larger/heavier coffins for dual turntable/cdj and mixer setups. Cases for the s4 may or may not be wide enough to use with the cross style stand.

ParticipantIf that doesn’t work let us know and we’ll try and get to the bottom of it.

ParticipantCan you swap the output/record out from the speakers vs the laptop to first see if you are getting an equivalent/decent output on both?
VinnyBlanc
ParticipantIf you have a laptop (laptop stand) and a controller your next purchase needs to be a pair of headphones!
Depending on what controller you have, you may or may not need to buy a sound card to use in conjunction with the headphones. The case you are reffering to is a “flight case” and there are usually a few versions out for each controller made by manufacturers such as Odyssey, Marathon, and Road ready, but that isn’t really neccessary at this point. Also the stand you mentioned isn’t really required unless you have no other surface/work area to practice on.
If you give some more details such as what controller and software you use we can give you some more insight.
Regards,
