I’m an avid supporter and only suggest against it when someone is dead set on utilizing Traktor. Mapping this unit to Traktor is a waste as it is designed for Itch and you can midi map everything, but will lose the amazing resolution on the jogs. Now, however, Numark makes the Traktor Equivalent the “4Trak” so…

If you have any questions feel free to shoot them at me here or via PM.

Also love the 4 channel stand alone mixer should anything happen to the laptop. Just a quick flick of a siwtch by the line fader to go from PC to line input (2 phono, 2 mic, 4 Line or any combination)

Take a look at my setup on Facebook. I actually run channels 1 and 2 in itch and 3 and 4 in scratch live with the Technics simultaneously on the same MBP 13″ with no issues.

Just to clarify the NS6 is smaller than the DDJ-T1 and not too much bigger than the Dennon.

And the NS6 can absolutely control the Sample Player on the hardware itself. I will talk to Phil as the 2012 guide must be incorrect / out of date.

Here is a picture I thought you might find useful in making your decision.

Thanks for the buyer beware. This community welcomes criticisms of all types and is not all “fluff” so you should be fine.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience with the unit, but you might just save somebody else from having a similar one.

Not considering a Numark NS6? It meets or exceeds all of your criteria as well..

    Phil,

That was the first thing that jumped to my mind to.

    OP,
I would try the simplest solution first and get a cheap, short pair of alligator clip leads and clip one on to the chassis of the Twitch and clip the other end to something metal to serve as a ground and see if you still accumulate this “static buildup” on the twitch.

    Congrats,

It all depends on who is there if you have young girls who are jamming out to the Top 40…keep ’em happy.
I just started my residency last week and all the bedroom DJing in the world prepares you little for reading a crowd, so that it what I am working on improving now.

If you want to go the serato route I would try to avoid getting a Serato DJ Intro compatible controller and save up a little bit more to get an Itch controller. The reason for the escalated price is because you are paying for the software too. Keep in mind, unlike Traktor where you have to pay for each upgrade, all Itch updates will be free.

You can get a Vestax VCI-300 MkII (they are giving away the free FX unit with it now) for about $500 US which should fall in your budget.

The swivel was the kicker for me. Never have to take ’em off. Never have to put them around the neck.

    XOR,

Hessler was just trying to help. While we are on the subject of nit-picking though… The Mixtrack Pro is not a “mixer” it is a controller. You would have a heck of a time trying to input two devices and “mix” them using this hardware.

For the record, any controller that is compatible with Traktor (very vague) is “traktor gear” as you define it.

To answer your question on buying/building modularly… I would go S2>F2>F2 or S2>F2>X1 depending on what you will be utilizing it for.

    Cost of 2 mackie th-15 = $500
    Cost of 1 of those qsc’s > $650 right?

Cost is a consideration for my first pa system… So I can gig and reinvest to either expand the mackie setup or sell and upgrade.

    Here are two options.

    1. Flight Case (VMS4 version)

    2. Gig Bag (VMS2/4)

You have to way out protection vs weight. Also, consider cost and if you want an all in one solution or not.
