ParticipantTypically, the difference between posting a mix and a podcast is that a podcast has a little more of a radio-show type feel where the DJ himself interjects between songs to announce the next artist/track and maybe say a little blurb about it.
This is not always the case but very common iE (Tiesto Club Life Podcast – Avicii Levels Podcast etc..)

ParticipantThanks for speaking out and I must say I am envious of you. I am 28 and just started DJing < 1 year ago. I wish, at this point, I could have 12 years behind the decks. I am sure too that with being married and all the great things to follow my time will effectively be cut back. I was also going to suggest committing to release a monthly mix as there are tons of internet radio/apps now to get your music out there when you physcially cant.
Regards.

ParticipantMix.DJ is an app I just picked up for the iPhone and I’m loving it. It categorizes (and sub categorizes) everything into “parties”
So thereare 20k “House Parties” that gets broken down into 5k “Vocal House Parties” 10k “Electro House Parties” and so on. It then filters them by upload date and region.

ParticipantThey limit the looping abilities on the Typhoon I believe. You can’t go below a 1 bar loop right?
Directly from the Itch 2.0 Manual…
Auto LoopingAuto-looping allows you to create loops instantly. Auto-loops range from 1/32 to 32 bars. You can use the relevant Auto-Loop controls on your ITCH hardware to select the auto-loop range.

ParticipantWhat controller are you using?

ParticipantWelcome to the site.
Give us a little more information about what you plan to do and what kind of music and we can help you narrow it down to a few controllers, but ultimately its up to you.
Peace from New Jersey.

ParticipantI would advise against getting the NS6 with the plans to switch to traktor later.
If you are intrested in going the Traktor route I would spend the extra money up front and get the “Numark 4Trak” (the Traktor version of the NS6 which is identical but also includes a seperate bolt on FX unit to better utilize the Trakotr FX)I would search on YouTube for some videos of Itch in action since you aren’t able to go hands on without a piece of ITCH hardware.
Best of luck, and let us know what you end up with.

Participant$700 is what I paid for my used Technics a few months ago (they were mint) but I didn’t get flight cases with them.
I say its a fair price so long as you check them out and nothing is wrong with them (platter/tonearm/pitch faders etc)VinnyBlanc
ParticipantPrototype,
Both controllers he mentioned are 2 channel controllers.
I think his dillema is choosing with one will be a better fit for him.VinnyBlanc
ParticipantEither one is going to be fine for Traktor.
There are a bunch of threads on this exact debate already on the site. If you use the search function on the site you will be able to get some immediate feedback on a comparison of the two from all of our forum members.

ParticipantNovation Dicers are small little MIDI controllers (sold in a pair) that can be used to map differnt functions.
They are about $99 USD.5 buttons (3 different “banks” giving you 15 mappable buttons total”
The default for Serato (Scratch Live) is:
Bank 1 – Hot cues
Bank 2 – Auto Loops
Bank 3 – Loop RollsThis can also be used to map the SP6 sampler of Serato Itch (and a few other functions)
However, they are more commonly used by Serato people on Turntables (they were actually made for 1200s) or CDJs.I hope this helps.
I should have pictures up soon on my facebook page with the Dicers incorporated into my Itch/Scratch Live setup.
http://www.facebook.com/vinnyblanc (they actually drop right in to the 45 adapter (bottom left circle) of each turntable.March 26, 2012 at 3:20 am in reply to: What should I do with all my old CD singles (around 1000)? #1003360VinnyBlanc
ParticipantWhat genre of music are they? I’m always looking for new tracks I may not have come across otherwise…
