ParticipantI would get the Mixtrack Pro as the S2 and Twitch are a step up from this.
Invest as little as possible when you first start and with time you will determine what you actually need in your next controller (you will also have the extra money saved to put toward your next controller and can resell the mixtrack Pro easily)

ParticipantIt can be used with Itch.
However, it is limited and can only be assign functions that are already assigned to Keystrokes in Itch. This includes the triggering the SP-6 sample player; Record Start/Stop; play/pause/reverse for each deck etc.
You need to use Bome’s midi Translator and assign each button on the X1 to a computer keystroke.
I Hope this helps.

ParticipantJoJo,
Welcome to the site. I also enjoy mixing Dance/Hip Hop!
Check out my lastest track in the link below: Umek vs Lil Jon (&LMFAO) – Freak N Drink

ParticipantAlso, by 90% of the “pro” djs work with serato. Are they all using itch, scratch live, or a combination of the two?
Because in terms of hardware they aren’t exactly interchanagble…VinnyBlanc
ParticipantThanks for the feedback guys. I’m having my graphic artist actually put it together, but I just wanted to get something up for the time being. I agree that I don’t like the font of the ital. text. I may remove it altogether.
Also, Dav, I just went wit hthe black/red to go with my logo, but I might go more 80s with a paint splotch type design like pictured below.

ParticipantWhat software are you currently using?
PS…start playing in front of people…

ParticipantYou will have to get an Itch controller then since you can then map it to VDJ and Traktor and not the other way around.
I have the NS6 and love it (stand alone line/phono 4 channel mixer) 4 deck control of itch (and I know there is a 4 deck mapping/skin for VDJ) You can then mix video in either Itch or VDJ. Traktor also has the equivalent hardware now from Numark ..the “4trak”.VinnyBlanc
ParticipantThe words SSL and Controller don’t mix (but I think Serato will open this up in the near future)
For the time being, Itch is the controllerist version of SSL, and has its limitations as well as benefits over SSL but should in no way be considered a LE of SSL or Serato DJ Intro equivalent. Its going to be hard to find one controller that hits all your needs listed above…

ParticipantWhat software are you looking to use? Is this your first step in to digital or DJing in general>

ParticipantI’d do some kind of play on words with Reason808 to “resonate”
like “Reason8” or something.

ParticipantI believe all of the “stand alone mixer” controllers still require the applicable external soundcard/hardware to function.
(IE the RANE or NI cards)VinnyBlanc
ParticipantIf you are buying used I would only get a pair of Technic 1200s.
If buying new on a budget look at Numark TTXs
If buying new and not on a budget look at the Stanton Str8.150s.There “should” be a hardware toggle on the controller to easily switch between a PC vs AUX (Line/Phono) input.
I have a pair of Technic 1200s flanking my NS6 (Numarks equivalent MC600) and I can controll 4 decks in serato or with a quick switch 2 decks and 2 turntables…pretty simple.
