I thought so. Looks like the Mixtrack Pro 2 or Mixtrack Pro 3 is the winner because I found out that the standard Mixtrack series doesn’t have the sound card. The American Audio DAWs are cool too. Pioneer gear is like ridiculously expensive!

That’s the one I’m thinking about. I really want a mixtrack pro.

Thanks for the help. Seeing that the newer is close to 3K, I am actually thinking about a Refurbished MBP 2012 now. Some of them are below $1000 and that’s good. Would the 13″ MBP be a good choice or should I get the 15″? The 13″ is a bit less expensive.

I hear you on that heat thing. I put Ubuntu Linux on my 7 yr old Acer because it crashed and lost Windows. I thought it would be fun to play with a free experimental platform and it had a DJ program called Mixxx that serves as a great beginner DJ software to learn on. The problem is, the laptop has been dropped like twice and now it overheats and completely shuts off after like 15-20 mins of just playing music. I thought Linux was supposed to be light. I beginning to believe the hard drive is damaged on it because even with removing the battery and running it on direct AC power, it still shuts off so I definitely need something reliable when I get the money.

Thanks for your input. I guess Mac is at the top of the line because even my friends have recommended me get one. They’re also about half the price of gaming laptops and better battery life. I will be doing both producing and DJing. I don’t have near 256Gb of music right now. Not even 10Gb. 256Gb of music is a little much! If you’re familiar with the AlienFX lighting on Alienware, you’ll know what I mean by lightshow.

I definitely would want a killer lightshow. At least in the future. My ultimate is to sync up the music to the lights via a DMX controller and software. After rendering my songs, I export them again as MIDI files in FL Studio so that they can be linked up to lights. I do have a costume and “monkey suit” I would use as my character persona for the show. Eventually I would love to have the most killer light show performances ever. I’ve always loved the lights ever since I was young. I enjoyed Saturday night cosmic bowling just because of the lights. I not too much into just static music playing so I can tell I will definitely need some kind of mixer controller. Thanks for the advice.

Yes it is. and I’m still going at it. Now I just got to find a good Android DJ App so I can start mixing.

Ooops did I say 600? I meant 200. No I’m not that awesome yet. Good lord that would be amazing, but still, it’s insane. Yeah. I just have that creative potential to do that. I also have Asperger’s Syndrome and for a girl, that’s very rare, which may explain my strong ability to stay focused with it. I still have a lot more stuff with the program to learn though. I haven’t dabbled that much in the Effects browser yet. It’s still intimidating a bit, but as for tracks, I can make one in a matter of minutes. Although it sort of seems elementary. And I still have the free version of the program because I can’t afford to register it yet. In my opinion due to the amount of effects and plugins it has on the website, I think it’s better than any other DAW from what I have explored (Cubase, Ableton, Logic, Acidpro) mainly because they offer it free at first. No other one seems to do that. As productive as I am, it would seem I have time for nothing else, but actually I have quite a lot of time. There’s always still work and chores to be done.

Thank you. Being a noob on here, I wasn’t exactly sure where it was supposed to go seeing as it is original work and not just a mixtape. I sure do hope to learn much while i’m here.
