There are SOOO many DJ’s out there who do that, volume faders at the top in stead of 3/4 way, EQ’s to the stops and gains up too high

MemberEveryone has a different take on how to do something weather its beatmatching, transitions, dropping, even using the cross or volume faders- there aint no wrong or right, just what works and dont
All you can do is listen and take note from everyone who is willing to offer tips and form and apply your own methodU31
MemberYeah, its possible, i did exactly this when i first started up again – but with a Numark DXM mixer
At the time i already had a Citronix external soundcard for ripping vinyl to the lappy, http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/servlet/Info?ref=gbase&Track=SK128515
So i bought another of these and configured each VDJ channel to the mixers A & B channels on the line in’s while still having the vinyl turntables on the phono in’s, a flick of the switch and i could use vinyl or the laptop as a sourceI still keep this pair of citronix cards as a back up if the midi goes west, i can just plug these in to a house mixer using VDJ as decks and the mixer to cue and bring in tracks
you CANT do this with traktor Scratch pro 1, you need the NI audio cards or DJio or equivalent – i dunno about the latest version of Traktor though, i havent tried

Memberbut what if the DJ playing before you, is using vinyl? There will be no beatgrids and/or the BPM of the track he is playing. In the end, it will still all come down to the basics of this craft.
^^^ Agree!

Member^^^^ That has happened with vinyl, and applied the same solution, you get out of Dodge and mix out quick, while holding your hands up and smile..

MemberIm starting to get the hang now, a few difficulties in warping very complex tracks, and id like to be able to master loops and triggering them on the fly.. tho i have worked out how to type in the position of the beatmarkers and loop length
