Same question gets asked and possibly answered a million times in this forum.
Do you have preferences about size, functions, number of channels, or the software?

    However, I’d look at these:
    VirtualDJ
    http://www.thomann.de/gb/gemini_g2v.htm
    http://www.thomann.de/gb/gemini_g4v.htm
    Both well featured, good construction.

I’ve got a friend (a mobile dj, like myself), who uses this.

    Serato
http://www.thomann.de/gb/denon_mc2000.htm (I got one, its fantastic)

    Traktor stuff second hand.

Other software I have no idea.

When you’re starting out, a gig is a gig. A paid gig is even better. The style of music is irrelevant.

    Why not purchase one on-spot?

    Short answer: No.
Cue points are software-dependant. You did not mention whtich software/medium you were using. Cue points you set in one software do not transfer to other softwares, even with the same file. While There are some softwares that can import cue points from traktor to reckordbox, or vice versa.

Try google. I didn’t find anything.

I’m a DJ because music is moving. last time I had this problem, I put couple of well known groovy pop tracks playin, and went on the dancefloor myself. Coupla minutes later about 5 people joined, and after that some more. I think It worked good, since it was just a small corporate gig.

Instead of leaving comments in mixcloud I’ll put them here.

Generally very enjoyable mix. Coupla things come to mind:
    – EQ mixing to prevent clashing basslines. IMO its more efficent and cleaner than using plain filters.
    – Pay attention to levels of incoming tracks
    – some simple audio editing would do wonders, for example removing half a minute of silence from the beginning.
    – ms. Kymmypops! Yeah baby!

Whats the tracks playing around 9 and 12 minutes, they were good?

I did listen to your mix (with only one ear and with bad speakers, though, sorry for that)

Now this Reload part around 16-18 minutes: While I did like what you did there, I didn’t like how it sounded. Here’s a pun: Key is key! To reduce keys clashing here, the least you could do is to turn down the mid EQ on the Reload deck. The EQ mixing is generally the thing I think you need to work on. Try basic bass swap.

Other than that the mix was enjoyable, I didn’t recognise most of the tracks played here, whitch I concider a good thing.

Did give a listen, and some love too! Completly outstanding mix, both techically and enjoyably. Can’t really give any constructive feedback at my level, I just wish this was the club standard around here!

    Great mix.

The month has turned, and therefore its tome for yet another DJ Tuomari podcast! This month I decided to work on something new and put together this moombahton mix. While this is nowhere as flawless as the previous trance mix, I’m still very happy how it all came together. The biggest issue when doing this was that the genre is not very abundant or mainstream, and so most of the stuff here is found from soundcloud and such services, stuff you won’t find on iTunes or Beatport!

    Here we go

    Share, love, comment and enjoy!

I don’t know how much you tweaked this, since I don’t know the track (suprisingly, since its a protocol recordings release), so if you can:

Little excessive Chorus/reverb thorough the whole track and especially on the intro, I’d take it down to half or so. Bring in the bassline @2 mins a bit (only a little).

Other than that it sounds good!
