MemberHey dude, names Tony but I go by the DJ name Tripl3
Looks like you’ve got a good start with your friend. It’s a shame the scene in Reading isn’t catered to your needs. You done anything along the lines of Live Streams? Could be a great way to get out to people who share the same love of music.
Welcome to the site and I hope you become an active member

MemberI’ve also been interested in doing this.
Would it just be a case of recording and manipulating the sound in Audacity?
Tony Youll
MemberAgreed, it’s just such a catch genre of music that has seriously evolved as of late. Heard KOAN Sound live at Creamfields and they smashed it, honestly amazing.

MemberAwesome I’m down for this if thats cool. I think it’s an awesome way for some of the guys on here to get to know each other, hear what others are playing and just to get our names out. Count me in!

MemberI’d be pretty interested in doing this. I play rather commercial Dubstep and House (not everyones cup of tea) but I’d be interested. I just have one question.
Will there be a video feed? Cause that is seriously the only thing I am lacking right now

Member[quote=”Also, hopefully the songs I buy will have a genre tag attached to them to provide some road signs along the way.
Thanks!!
The majority of songs you buy will have provided they have been bought from legitimate sites (Beatport, iTunes)Just stick to what you enjoy playing, and everything will fit together with time bro!

MemberI agree with Terry 100%, using Shazam has saved me from many sleepless nights of searching the net for a specific song, it’s seriously a DJ’s life support machine. Also, as far as genres go, the lines of “which genre is which” are being washed away by the second. You can hear a song and it will have the elements of so many genres in, the low bass, the highs, the soulful chilled section and then smash you in the face with a crazy wobble.
In my personal opinion, its impossible for somebody to just say “I ONLY like [insert genre here]” because I can guarantee they will have a song in their crate that has aspects of another genre, and that aspect will sound like a specific song from another genre, they will be shown that song and instantly love it.
In my eyes, you need to stop thinking about specific genres, and just play what you love. I could be playing some house music, and if the mood feels right (and with the right prep and build up) bring in a heavy dubstep track.
It’s all down to you

MemberI know bumping in frowned upon, but I really need some feedback on this guys :/ I will even return the favor if you drop me a mix/track.

MemberSeems to be the place for DJ’s, so here’s me.
Names Tony but I go by the DJ name Tripl3, been DJ’ing for about 7 month now, done a few birthdays for friends but nothing big. Mainly play Dubstep/Electro/House but been messing around with abit of Drum & Bass lately.
I live stream once a week if I’m free but unfortunately it’s always a last second decision, so pulling viewers is difficult, but I still do it cause I enjoy mixing.
Thinking it would be awesome to host a DDJT night somewhere one time and get loads of DJ’s to come and maybe spin a 30 minute set or something! Just a crazy thought that popped into my head!

MemberYou could try getting some other DJ’s in who are into different styles? Very risky as it could warn off regulars, but with the right promotion could bring in a sea of new faces too.

Member2:00 literally describes this! It’s unbelievable.

MemberI’ll write as I listen, liking the first track, gave me a good idea of what to expect straight away. The mashup of those two songs is very nicely done and the build up to the actual drop of the 2nd song is great. Nice chillout bit to this as well, would go down awesome in a club! Actually love this Dirty Bit remix (and I hate the original song) Levels comes in next, wondering if you could have possible kept the audio from the previous track looping into this song, may have been a nice touch. Once again, love this remix to an overplayed song, gives it a new breath. It’s just dropped, and its insane! Nice fade into Lights, didn’t disrupt the flow too much, once again, this slow down would go down a treat in a club. Dude, do you have this hidden super power where you just find unreal remixes! Goin’ in just came in, felt a bit sudden for me, but I’m still unsure if thats just me being awkward. Oh wow, loving this track to man! Wasn’t too keen on the ending, maybe would have just faded the track out, unless that was the actual track?
Overall, I seriously enjoyed it. Your fades/transitions were superb (minus one, which like i said, may just be me being awkward) You have amazing tack selection and there wasn’t a song I felt didn’t fit, you gave the tracks some good playtime, which is a personal plus for me. I tried to imagine myself in a club with this playing, and visioned myself bouncing around quite alot, which is a good thing.
Honestly, I’d give you 8/10 as a personal score for what I like to see. I would have liked to see the vocal overloop from Dirty Bit into Levels and maybe have Goin’ In come in a little softer. Keep it up man, this is awesome! I would appreciate it if you checked my mixes out on my soundcloud below and possible leave some feedback if you have the time. Peace!

Listening to your Hardcore mix now, and already like it!Tony Youll
MemberAhh no way dude, where at? I’ll try and catch your set, maybe have a meet up as well. Be good to finally meet someone from this site!

MemberAlright, guna write this as I listen, starting off with an unreal song, love it. BOM BOM BOM, that is all, loved the transition into that deep bass. Fading the trumpet out into the next track was like. And you can’t complain with a Nirvana dance remix. Nice clean transition into Bonkers there, could have done with having the Nirvana track go on a little longer. This next track chilled me right out, loved it! Once again though, it felt like you were bringing songs in too quick. Fade into darkness deserves more time 😛 such a good track. That last transition was very smart thought, once again, could have been played out a little longer.
Overall, I enjoyed it, I liked the track selection, your fades and transitions were spot on and well timed. Only issue I have is with length. I understand it was a minimix, but there was some songs that only had a few bars heard and they were gone. I don’t know if thats just my way of thinking though. Like I said, good job for your very first mix man, keep it up and keep practicing.
If you have a moment, check out my soundcloud, just released a new Dubstep mix, and feedback would be appreciated.
