    Thanks again for the replies!!

    Come to think of it, if I am strict on my collection and don’t let it get too big I’m sure a 256GB hard drive will be big enough. I will only be using it for music as I will use my desktop PC to store photos, do work and other stuff on.

    Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I will get a macbook sorted over the next few months then!!!

    That’s awesome info! Thanks both!!

    Just a couple of questions.

    I haven’t had a mac before so bear with me…..

    If I use an external hard drive, could I still use my PC to download tracks then transfer them to the macbook? That way I can use my PC as my full library, the external hard drive as a back up and the mac will just have the “current music” that I am playing at the time. I don’t need to have all my tracks as I won’t be doing any request based sets.

    However, I have heard there are issues with getting a PC and a mac to read the same hard drive? (The reason I like to have all my music on my PC aswell is that is what is connected up at home to the TV / hi-fi speakers e.t.c.)
