I’d get a series-old thinkpad or any other laptop thats rugged and originally sold for business use. They gradually have better quality in parts. Then just make an install of win7 with -everything- taken out except the things you really need – and keep it that way. Then pc might hold without constant tweaking. “15 yrs with pc, mac since -07”

p.s. Specs are really not that important. Anything 2 years old or newer can run todays dj-software if the os is light enough. I’d put my money on SSD drive.

7/10 Having dj’d with vinyl and cdj’s before I had no clue how to use all the buttons and things in my screen. However fell for it, still love VCI-100.

Hows torq for mapping controllers? For some reason I like the way it looks, more like a tool than a toy. Might give it a shot if I can map twitch and / or DX to it.

My name is fubar and I’m an alcoholic. Wtf, wrong place… My DJ software is Serato Itch, and this is why: I’m not that geeky and I like most music enough not to trash it with bad live mashups and fx. Plus it works without a hitch, I’m not even updating versions to keep everything as it is, working and familiar.

I’ve had SSL, traktor, VDJ and itch on the same laptop for a while, no problems whatsoever (OSX).

I like Dötzer. Easy to remember and punchy. Just don’t add Dj in front of it and youll be fine.

Audio ? It was a early version of fruity loops. Dj? Traktor 3 when visiting a friend.

    Tip: Never trust sync.

Same as this, just 2,4GHz/ 160Gb 7200rpm. Thing is that with this hdd the thing runs HOT. Gotta get a ssd drive. Otherwise works like a charm for my use.

Well. I had been playing for a coupleof years and was called to play at a students halloween party. Took up a bunch of tunes I thought might work, packed up some cables and the cans since the place, according to the organiser had cdj’s and a good mixer. When I got there, I found out that the place had some geminis 2cd player, karaoke player and a karaoke mixer. :/ The night went alright until people showed up, I remember myself wondering that theyre going downstairs for whatever reason and the music is here. I was told that the people showing up were everything but edm-people. Which I was unaware of. Called my girlfriend to bring me any mainstream rockshit FAST, which happened. People started dancing an hour before closing. Never smoked that much cigarettes in one night.
