ParticipantI was just going to mention LD dave. Great speakers! For home practise and small parties you can use dave xs 8 – great, massive sound from small package!

Participant“Maschine already has a soundcard build in.”
Realy?

ParticipantSo… I think this is great hawing lcd on a controller… But the way it is being incorporated for now in not enough to put laptop away…
If Traktor would allow to reposition segments of display on separate screens, I would make me something lie this (very rough mock-up):

ParticipantWell, choosing from above, wharfendale gives you an good value for the money. JBL, Yamaha are a bit overpriced in my oppinion; you get a speakers that is allmost as good as Yamaha, some even better, but cost half the price…
Behringer, gemini are on the low end and I would not recommend it.TJ
ParticipantListen before you buy!
Most of the time more money means more music.
But sometimes you will find a hidden gem of a make you have never heard of.
Or you will realize, that the cheaper option is good enough for you 🙂TJ
ParticipantThere is another option – I sell him my S4 🙂 Buy myself MK2 🙂
I have used other controllers with Traktor but, as you said before – nothing compares with the s2/s4 – not for the price anyway…
Going Serato route – I don’t know it, have used it only for a few minutes, but It seemed simple and useful… What useful do we get in the price range?
TJ
ParticipantYeah, I have kinda forgotten about only two channels on a mixer 😀
I think I will just continue to use my current setup – not much of other options…
Thanks all!

ParticipantNI should just make decks like on S4 (http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/12/traktor-kontrol-x2-digital-decks-what-will-they-be-like/), I would stick it alongside my S4, and I would be happy 🙂
TJ
ParticipantI dont like Behringer… At the end of the day it’ just not good enough… Plus I would need another audio interface…
But how about traktor z1 + 2 x1?
TJ
ParticipantSo… Lets call us “Selecta”, and be over with:)
TJ
ParticipantIf “DJ” is only someone using real Vinyl (not DVS), how do we call someone who is using real vinyl, but also uses a state of the art digital mixer (say djm2000nexus), with rmx1000 effector, and more other samplers, effect processors etc.?
The sound may come from vinyl at the beginning, but is then sampled into mixers (or some other) sampler, and manipulated with effects on mixer or external… Than maybe looped, or used as a sample on a drum machine and so on… You get the idea… -
