KeymasterWelcome mate. I was in Vietnam 2 years ago, sadly only for a few days, it seems like a cool country.
I sure hope you share a lot more about the vietnamese scene and how things progress in your country (music wise).Terry_42
KeymasterWell basically you should look at the controller specs. If they still use old 16-bit DAs then the sound will be more compressed, but not generally bad.
Now controllers I have heard myself I give you a hitlist aka top = best:
NS7
Terminal Mix 4
NS6
VCI 400
VCI 300
Digital Jockey 3
DDJ-S1
——- all above I consider excellent sound quality
N4
Typhoon
Mixage IE
Mixtrack Pro
——- above here I still consider very good and playable in a club
S4
S2
iMic
A2
RMX
Twitch
———– above here are good and I played an S4 for quite some times, but I would not consider them buying at this time from a sound perspective.now this is personal opinion and my own hearing involved… others might tell you different. if a controller is not listetet I either did not hear it yet, or did not have it long enough hooked up to my reference monitors to make a valid statement.

KeymasterGoogle for a mapping file or look at the numark webpage for one. (.tsi file)
Open Traktor.
Connect the controller.
Load the mapping file.
Have fun.
(Read the Traktor manual and you should have known this 😉Terry_42
KeymasterI was thinking Vestax 380 also, since it comes with Itch, which is IMHO preferred to Djay… but the price point is hefty.
At the price you are looking for I really do not know.
You can run the Reloop Digital Jockey 3 as a standalone mixer at that price, but it comes with a version of Traktor LE and I have no idea if Djay runs on it.Terry_42
KeymasterYou should be OK if the PA is of decent quality and you setup the power adapters correctly. (E.g. do not run the lightshow on the same power line, than the PA.)

KeymasterTake a look at the many controller test on this site and you will always also get something about sound quality of the unit.
From most modern controllers you can expect a good soundquality with flat response (if you do not touch the EQ).
Of course the low end controllers sometimes sound more compressed, due to less good audio processors in them, but even budget controllers like the Reloop digital jockeys, N4, etc. have decent sound cards.Terry_42
KeymasterBeing digital you can still be a DJ, do not let anyone tell you otherwise only pity them for being closed minded.

KeymasterIndeed I agree with Steelo, you should get more familiar with the basics.
Have you considered our guide and tutorial videos? http://djtips.co/fast-infoTerry_42
KeymasterWell I have been DJing for well over 20 years and I have DJed for a very long time on CDJs and a mixer and I have come to the (sometimes unpopular) belief that it is all about personal preference and sometimes withstanding the change in technologies.
I can full heartily say that I see no real advantage in CDJs apart of not having to use a laptop. But since using a laptop is no downside for me, I can see no advantage for me and I have gone fully digital.
However I do not flame people for using CDJs or even turntables. It is their style and in the end it is about music and not the tool you use. However I would say that the DDJ Ergo is overpriced for what you get in the unit. The Numark N4 will deliver the same if you want a plastic unit and it is cheaper and has 4 decks. If you want a 2 deck layout, the Terminal Mix 2 or for 4 decks the Terminal Mix 4 will deliver better build quality, an all metal chassis and lot of better jogs for the same price or a hundret less.
If you do not really need the flashy lightshow, the DDJ Ergo is not the unit I would consider.Terry_42
KeymasterI did not use VDJ yet for VJing, but I have set up some projectors and it largely depends on the venue what you need. The rule is: The more lights the venue has, the more lumen you will need to still have a decent colored picture. So my current setup has about 4000 lumen. However you can get away with 720p resolution easily if the screen is not overly big (aka over 4 meters width).
I really liked Sanyo projectors as they seem to be much bang for the buck and since setup is often a question, the Sanyo seem to have the best lens shift in both vertical and horizontal direction.Terry_42
KeymasterYou should try to contact DJ Iceman. He had the VMS 2 and I think his friend the 4.1. He can surely tell you all about it first hand. I sadly had no VMS 4.1 in my hands yet, but the old 4 version was not “that bad”, the only letdown was the soundcard and that is what they updated. I also did not like the jogwheels that much, but that is personal preference I guess and since I am using a Terminal Mix now, I have high standards for jogs.

KeymasterIndeed, go for TRS to XLR it is surely the better solution for such highend monitors, the A7s are a wonderful piece of gear.

KeymasterI totally agree with Steelo on this one.
Also when you start mixing, less is often more and also more exciting.
Getting people in a bar shaking their booties on the chairs with deep house simple blended together is where you can show greatness…Terry_42
KeymasterVery nice setup!

KeymasterThere are some very nice 70s and 80s disco channels on iTunes radio channels…
