KeymasterFirst of all get our wedding DJ guide. It will open your eyes and the playlists alone are worth the money.
As for the songs a couple requests. Talk to them, make THEM think about the guests they invited with questions like “is your granny present and do you think she likes Megadeath too?”.
Ask them in terms of themes for specific parts of the evening:
Like “music during dinner”, “music as long as elderly are present” and “party music for the late night dance”. Special dances like first dance, father daughter dance, brides dance,…
If you DJ also during the ceremonry ask the couple AND the pastor or whoever does the ceremony. As for requests during the DJing, if it is not the bride or groom asking I have a sheet of paper that they can write the request on and sometimes during the night I usually ask the bride to approve songs to play. I never play a request right away.
Also ask for games like Karaoke or other fun party games they want to do, those can require special music.
For the rest get the guide 🙂

KeymasterTry the following please:
Let a track play for a few seconds, touch the platter (so the track should stop, do not scratch), raise hand and let play again.
The latency between you touching the platter and stopping the track should be minimal, so should the you raising hand and track resuming be.
If there is a huge latency as in the video, then there is something wrong with the unit, if it is OK then it really could be snesitivity or the way you touch the platter.Terry_42
KeymasterSince it is flashback…
You may say about his music what you want (yes it is very very cheesy at todays standards) but he is one of the nicest guys I ever met.

KeymasterHonestly the smaller the collection the better.
I use Spotify and Amazon Music to dig and discover music and then buy the track of iTunes/Amazon or Beatport if I want remixes.
This way I spend about 1 dollar per tune and if I buy 10 tunes a month that would be 10-15 bucks. Way cheaper than ANY DJ pool that has a good collection, they ask for at least 30-40 bucks a month if you sub for a year.July 26, 2016 at 10:57 am in reply to: Active speakers or old integrated amp with passive speakers? #2423061Terry_42

KeymasterSorry but Mixxx is open source software and tends to do unexpected things like that. The Traktor Audio 2 is not designed to work with Mixxx, it is specifically designed for Traktor so depending on your Windows drivers that may cause problems.
Apart from that I cannot support you with Mixxx as no professional DJ is using it, we rely on professional grade software.Terry_42
KeymasterThat is surely not normal, there seems to be something wrong here.
Do you use Windows or Mac? If Windows: What driver you using? Is this a clean install?Terry_42

I do not have an SX2 but tried it with my MCX8000 and the LEDs and platters are spot on.
Do you have the latest firmware installed etc.?Terry_42
KeymasterAlso with the VCI-300 do you have the last firmware installed?

KeymasterHi,
welcome from an extremely young DJ (only 21 years on Decks) 😛

KeymasterI tried it with the Weego and even with only track selection it is quite small as the letters are so small and playlist zooming is not working as it is on a laptop.
