KeymasterWell not black hole, but it may cause some causality problems…
Using both at a time is cool, however using both at the same time (aka sending music to both at the same time) can damage the whole thing. So hooking both up is fine as long as you do not overpower the unit by sending a strong signal from both sources at the same time.

KeymasterIf you buy it (without a device) it will only work on 2 computers of your choosing.
If you buy a device, the device will activate the license on any computer, however any purchased plugins will only work on 2 computers of your choosing.
You can at any time de-activate a license on a computer and transfer it to another via the software. However do not forget to de-activate before uninstalling it on a computer as this can cause trouble.Terry_42
Keymaster– Have a sample loaded in your sample player that is a short loud clapping sound.
– Hit the record on the recorder and video
– play sample really loud
– Do your thingYou can then sync the audio track and video track via that clap as it will be on both tracks, before you cut out the audio from the video, as you obviously want only the good recorded audio track synced.
This procedure will work on any good video software like Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements,…

KeymasterYes the TM8 is also all metal and it is a really good controller. It is just the MCX has loads of more features that warranted my upgrade. And still after a few gigs and playing with it at home I still smile when playing on it.
There are some features where it is a real hidden treasure, like the stop time adjuster that you can use while the track stops. So for example put it on highest setting (which would be insane) hit the pause button and then turn the knob up and down for an awesome hip hop transition.Terry_42

KeymasterGood choice, you will love it.
That means that the connectors are also screwed into the case and the mainboard. This makes it very solid and you cannot damage the controller by pushing the XLR in to strong (well you can if you are Arnold Schwarzenegger, but not usually hehe). That is a weakness in most controllers, as this added step is expensive to do.

KeymasterPeavey is traditionally more conservative. Aka not using the newest technology and not being at the forefront of innovation. However this also makes their products usually very solid, sturdy and reliable. I have played with some Peaveys and they all were not excellent at anything, but also not bad at anything and very reliable.
I like the HK, very good sound, and good package.
I am not so fond of the sound of Eons for DJing.

KeymasterWell this is why we recommend good laptops (MacBooks, EliteBooks,…) for DJing. Consumer laptops cannot handle the abuse, only pro-laptops can.
You can try to some degree to help this by adding a cooling pad to your laptop stand. This is basically a pad with fans that you place your laptop on. And also add some fans to your booth to keep the air in the area moving. However if the whole outside air is too hot and moist it will not help.Terry_42

KeymasterFirst of all – Welcome 🙂
Well Traktor and Rekordbox are 2 very very different apporaches to DJing software.
Traktor relies much more on good preparation work (you need to have stem files and/or remix deck sets etc.) and in regard is lacking some “live control” features and is harder to beatgrid if you use something other than straight “boom boom” music.
However if you do DJ the boom boom genres (Techno, House, Electro,…) and have the preparation work, the level of creative freedom can be exceptionally good, especially if you combine stems and remix decks. On the other hand Rekordbox (and also Serato) have a different approach. They basically tell you, do not do so much prep work, just get the usual singles with Full/instrumental/acapella versions and mix on the fly using “twitch” oriented features like slicer, instant sampler (Rekordbox) or Flip (Serato) or tone play (Serato). However these features in return take a lot more training as you are actually re-arranging a track on the fly live. So if you mess up everyone will notice (most likely), while in Traktor if you botch the prep-work you can re-do it. So prep-time wise both will be about the same, Traktor will be more time spending researching and using DAWs to cut in songs and Serato will more be simulating live play.
So you have to decide which workflow suits you best, there is no actual better or worse and I also have to say when I am attending gigs as a guest I can appreciate a good DJ no matter which form of workflow he does.
What I do recommend however is not to base you decision on the fact that with Rekordbox you “might” be able to use CDJs better. Doing that is bogus. You can use Traktor and download the free Rekordbox version any day. Creating a CDJ ready USB stick from rekordbox if you have pre-defined playlists is done in the same amount of time it takes you to prepare setlists and playlists in Traktor or any other software. It is easy as hell and very very intuitive. So if you ever come into that position just ask for more money. (If I have to use CDJs I ask for 30% more than my normal fee for the trouble of having to use outdated equipment. 30 seconds later any manager told me “bring what you want” and when they hear me perform in my gear, they never want anything else.)
