ParticipantHi Cheeku,
Another idea would be to look at the novation twitch.
It will give you serato (you can map also to vdj) and is supported by Ableton live.
Maybe just check that one, I have the feeling it will match with what you want to do…Show your passion to your dad, he will understand…

ParticipantHi Aaron,
you might want to check out DJworx website for that:

ParticipantHi Tony,
This is what I would do:
Use midi out signal from Traktor to the Volca’s midi in (route from pc)
Connect the Volca synth line out to one of the channels line in on the S4 (3 or 4, the one not remix decks)
Play some beats or loops in Traktor either from a song (loop) or from sampler/remix deck. Make sure your grids are correct BPM wise.
Rock the house with playing baselines or synth stabs etc from the Volca..This is what I do with my micro Korg and it’s just so cool..

ParticipantMono, because people move around in clubs. Stereo, quadrophonic etc will lead to a less good experience and probably headaches…

ParticipantOlly,
Plenty of choice. Just check serato or Novation forum for some suggestions. I forgot the name, they talk at serato about some phone/line amp thingy..
Actually, anything like a small mixer will help you as well..Regards,

ParticipantHi Olly,
if you (or other DJs) are the only one playing from the Twitch, you should not have an issue. You can adjust the PA or AMPs according the loudness you need, just don’t hit the reds (!).
If you are performing after another DJ with CDJs, powdered controller, mixer orso, you might find that your sound will be less loud, especially when the previous DJ was working at the limits of the PA.
A good way to add some ‘bite’ to your sound would be to connect both master and booth (oh, set the booth output switch at the back to ‘main’ first) to the in house mixer. You will add some dBs in loudness. You could also buy a small line AMP that adds 2-3 dB to your line level, before going to the in house mixer. The latter will leave your booth output free.regards,
