ParticipantHi Entro,
I agree with Vintage here.
Depends on the country, people, venue, mood, weather etc.best is to test the waters yourself, know the people, what they like, what they come for, that’s what dj-ing is all about i guess.
success with your journey man.

ParticipantHi D-Jam
here my favorite for this week. it’s a years old or so, but what the heck.
i should put the original up on Friday, since it’s a real classic 🙂
bonus points for original artist and song, anyone?
i like the groove of it, and lately i’m all into remixes of early house songs, so this song fits my current playlist well.here the YouTube link:

ParticipantHi D-Jam,
so, here my classic.
I still remember when i bought this record, somewhere in ’93. we’re talking classics right?
it was so bloody hard to find and i even had to travel for 8 hours to get to the record store that was holding a copy. Called the guy at the store, his name was Kurt (oh the shop was in Hannover, Germany, oh and how funny, i still remember his name) and he promised to hold the record for me ’till i arrived the next day. Long story short, spend the whole night in Hannover clubbing with Kurt and his friends (we went to the place called ‘Trance’) and i took the next train back home to Holland in the morning. Just to find out halfway that the record was still in Kurt’s shop! Bought some tickets back to Hannover and at last got the record.
Played it thousand of times, and it is still part of my sets, although i mix in only the last part of it, with the vocals that is.
here the picture of the record:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4fC-KVXPAgTVlhjaFBXTFZSR1U/view?usp=sharing
and here the song i played most from this record and that i would call my classic:

ParticipantHi D-Jam
great initiative man!
here’s my contribution. I know it’s not the super latest song of songs, but it always pops-up on my playlist 🙂
Artists: Chocolate Puma
Song name: Step Back
Genre: still under discussion. Call it what you like. I filed it under Retro Future House.
@D-Jam: So, next Friday classics right? hmmmm just can’t wait..regards,

ParticipantHi P Effect,
i do the same as you do, albeit on a NS7ii.
i use the Serato remote app on an IPad 2 and this works quite ok. You can get the loops sync to your decks, get them as one shot, loop etc etc.1 thing i’m wishing to see in 2015 is a hardware controller add-on for the sampler. The Reloop Neon get’s very close, but i would like to have faders for the volumes of each sample…
good luck with your stuff man

ParticipantHi Bergy,
no problem, glad to help you out.
Now, go download the manual.. 🙂regards,

ParticipantVintage is right..
i assume you’r using Serato DJ right, Bergy?
if you are trying Traktor or Cross or VirtualDJ, you might need to review your software’s set-up.regards,

ParticipantHi Bergy,
case of RTFM maybe?
Try to turn the knob that says CUE mix fully to cue and check again. If that doesn’t work check if the knob is active for it’s second function (sampler volume).I am experiencing the same kind of thing with my new NS7ii, where i need to learn and re-adjust my new work flow. I keep the manual handy at all times and refer to that in case i run into issues.
hope this helps you.

Hi There,
if you look closely at the picture made by Mark (over at djworks.com), you would see there is one additional earthing connection, next to the power plug. Maybe this is what the OP is referring to?
Any thoughts on what would be the purpose for that one?just ordered myself the NS7ii and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.
Let the summer come!regards,

ParticipantHi Peter,
if you still think about using your own name, how about Pete Klark, Pete Clarque, Clarke Peterson, Tom(my) Clarke etc etc.. you know the drill now..

ParticipantHi Peter,
just some thoughts for you:
what city do you live in, does it have an interesting sound in it?
what’s your favourite song? Crate digging might give you splendid ideas. And i mean song names not the dj name..
What’s your favourite artist (music related or maybe not)?
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
etc.. i guess you get the idea.good luck man!
regards,
King of Snake
(song by underworld and i’m from a city that sounds like ‘snake’ when pronounced in Dutch)
(oh and in that city a peppermint candy called ‘KING’ is produced…) -
