Hi Yozakura,
I’m interested in reading the responses to your question as I’m considering the same controllers. Right now I have a traditional set up – Pioneer DJM700 and 2 x CDJ1000’s + 2 x 1210’s.
I’ve been using Traktor Pro 2 for a few months now and feel it’s time to invest in a decent controller.
My shortlist so far:
Traktor Kontrol S4 – Obviously the best in terms of mapping with Traktor Pro 2, but there’s no option to use it as a stand alone mixer, no booth out, and I don’t like the way the jog wheels are set back. And it looks so cheap!!
Denon DN-MC6000 – Operates as stand alone mixer and has booth out, but looks overkill and apparently fiddly/cramped to use.
Vestax VCI-400 – Best jog wheels out there (so I’ve read), solid metal construction and looks the absolute dogs danglies! However, can’t be used as stand alone mixer and no booth out.
Reloop Jockey 3 ME – Looks perfect in terms of mapping with Traktor Pro 2 and the fact that it can be used as stand alone mixer and has booth out. But I read a lot about poor jog controls. Apparently this was a software issue with prototype models and was due to be fixed for production, but I can’t find anything to say that it’s been resolved.
So far for me, I think it’s between the S4 and the Jockey 3. Would be good to see if anyone has anything to highlight about these controllers.
