ParticipantTechnically speaking, those monitors are active so they power themselves. So yes, you can connect them to your S2 via TRS cables to your master out, or you could use RCA-TRS cables on your booth output.

ParticipantSorry, got my X and Z backwards. What I meant to suggest is that you get a Z1, which I see you already have. Maybe upgrade to Audio 2?
squarecell
ParticipantWhy not get a Kontrol X1, so you have the added benefit of headphone cueing and mixer controls?

ParticipantThere’s also free commercial fonts at http://www.fontsquirrel.com and http://www.fontpark.net
D-Jam is right, most good music-related logos are simply stylized fonts.

ParticipantAs someone in the process of becoming a Traktor re-convert, I think that would fit nicely in the middle of my setup.

ParticipantIf you can return the audio gear, at the very least, I would do it. As Terry said, there are no bargains in pro audio and that setup is bound to disappoint you in time.
A pair of active speakers made by a reputable company (Yamaha, QSC, Mackie, EV, JBL) would be a much better starting point.
The RMX controller is old as sin, but if you’re just starting out it would be okay (although you’d be better off with a Mixtrack Pro or practically anything made by Reloop or Denon).
Don’t get too down on yourself. There are a lot of pretenders in pro audio who are out to make you think you can get by while spending less, but in the end you’re just wasting your money. Thankfully this board was here before I made the same mistake a few years back.

ParticipantI picked up a set of these a while back:

Tried to use them at my last gig, but I found I couldn’t hear what was coming out of the speakers very well so I took them out again. I think I just need to wear them more often so I get used to it.

ParticipantJust the kind of advice I was looking for. Thanks Terry!

ParticipantThere are already apps for that and they don’t require the DJ to be there to hit play.

ParticipantThe specs are more than okay, but I find the screen on my 13″ MBP to be too small at times when DJing.

ParticipantFirst gig: Surprise party for my brother’s 16th birthday.
First paid gig: Year-end soccer banquet.
First gig once I became a ‘proper’ DJ: Fundraising dance at the local youth centre.
First paid gig once I became a ‘proper’ DJ: New Years Bash.

ParticipantYou’re still going to be woefully underpowered with that thing, in my opinion. For the same price, you could get a Mackie Thump15, which would be way louder and would not distort at high volumes the way the BeatBox does.

ParticipantFrom my local shop, the difference is $110 bucks. I also prefer to have faders, but I don’t think I can justify spending that much more to have them.
Thanks again for the help.
