Participant6W RMS?
Unless your gig is taking place in a closet, I don’t think this will do the trick.

ParticipantI once bought a Gemini product.
Once.

ParticipantThat new Mackie Freeplay looks like it might fit the bill.

ParticipantI don’t think there’s much “learning” to be done on touch strips. They’re only really used for nudging or needle drops, whereas with jogwheels you have the option of learning to scratch.
Having said that, I recently picked up an X1mk2 and now I much prefer to take that to gigs than to lug around my cumbersome SCS.1d’s. The Traktor modular system is awesome especially if you play mostly EDM and buy into the whole NI philosophy. It definitely allows you to upgrade piece by piece over time as well.

ParticipantDo you have somewhere else you can rent from? None of the gear on that page will give you a “club” sound. Especially, for a few hundred people.
I’ll let Terry and Vintage get into the specifics, but you’re at the very least going to want 15-inch active speakers and a couple of 18-inch active subs.

ParticipantGoPro Hero 4 is quite decent in low light.

ParticipantThat’s so Stanton…

ParticipantSame problem here.

ParticipantBecause there used to be many artificial barriers to entering pro DJing (cost, learning curve, etc) that don’t exist anymore. Now everyone with an iPad app considers themselves a DJ.
Good DJs adapt; bad Djs gripe.
But as King of Snake said it’s no different than any other profession. My other job is that of pro photographer and many of the same sentiments have been echoed at every step along the way (autofocus, auto exposure, digital).

ParticipantAs far as making them all work together, once you’ve imported one mapping (TSI file), click add -> import and then load the mappings for the additional controller(s). Once you’ve done that, remember to save it as a new TSI file so you don’t have to go through the process again.
That’s the easy part. If you find you need to remap a control to your liking, then good luck to you.
(Actually Ean Golden has some decent videos on how to understand the Traktor mapping process)October 27, 2014 at 9:14 pm in reply to: Will a Hercules DJ 4Set, Launchpad Mini, and Traktor DJ software be compatible? #2078002squarecell
ParticipantThere is a mapping available from Hercules for the 4Set, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

ParticipantOn the speaker, you’re plugging in at the top where it says “line input” using a female-male XLR cable.

ParticipantSpecifically buying that stuff for DJing would be waste of money. Best to buy the 201s and save up for some decent speakers. I personally use the AV-40s that Terry mentions and they work great for me.
If you want some other options, there are great reviews on this site and I also found the following article to be very insightful:

ParticipantI would not use any of the above equipment for DJing purposes.
