Because i like the FX and the ease of mapping. If vdj would get some decent FX, I would use that, so I could bring in video.

Or do i just want to slowly crescendo the whole night? I’m in jazz band at my school and thats how we program our shows. Is it the same in the club or dj world?
Doesn’t work the same way. When people come to see a band, they expect the band to dictate the “entertainment” In general, unless you’re famous, people think the dj “works” for them. So you have to watch the crowd. Be alert, watch their reactions to songs, get a sense of what they want to hear. Get them dancing, playing 3 or 4 tracks to keep them dancing, them give them a break “down” …repeat

MemberHaha, yea a lot of people are starting to “go back to the old ways” because you know what, it turns out that it’s actually A LOT of hard work to utilize all of the options that digital has given us. It’ s easier to go back to playing one track into the next, instead of wisely using fx, loops, and cues in a compelling way.
Gentlemen..don’t fall for this BS…practice and find and define your own style. This is the beginning, not the end or even the middle.
My advise is to combine what you already know with all the new abilities of the software, CREATE..don’t duplicate. It’s pointless.
If you’re a mix guy, incorporate loop+fx on both tracks as a blend style. If you scratch, learn to scratch “with” FXspektakx

Lover of all things dj+and yes, it could also be said that I played a vital role in the promotion of Baby Decks in it’s early days. And I’m grateful for RS’s continued support in my efforts to claim my rightful place in this business.

MemberYea, when I hear people say that controllers are easy or cheating, I think of the I-dee demo, whcih wasn’t vry good. So, it would seem that it is actually harder to use a controller, hmmmm

MemberVdj is made to run on Low spec machines and with no special drivers or audio interface
spektakx
MemberI’d rather use asio4all than the djIO. You’ll actually be able to get lower latency without that interface.

MemberCurrently running traktor pro and asio4all, scratching, fx, looping like mad on core 2 duo(1.6 ghz), 2 gb ram, win 7 ultimate gateway tablet from 2003. All working lovely. I paid $200 on ebay.
Moral…?
