Until the computer can truly feel emotion, its just running off statistics and averages. I for one would much prefer to hear new tracks that are unknown to me than hearing whats on myine or other peoples ipod.

is this sense, tone is used to mean attitude, and attitude is based on emotion.
i think the beauty of of system with feedback, whether it’s bio-feedback, or data, is that the event will be catered to specific crowds. (we already do that with parties) he computer will be able to do the thing that so many guys constantly talk about “Read the Crowd” as a person, how might you read the crowd? by what? their clothes, their haircut, the shoes? with the type of data the computer will have, it will be, as computers already are in our lives, looking into their minds, and even their hearts.
the example i used is just one example. think of it as fast food for clubbing.

sure. the pace of a reggae night is such that it’s nice to have breaks, mcing, or just talking on the mic as a build up or intro to the tracks. Play a track, stop the track, talk a bit, play another track. it’s the songs themselves that are the draw, not “the mix”
Lots of people actually like “songs” and don’t care for “club as event” they just want to hear the music, and will tell you, just let the whole record play.
if you are going to not mix and play records instead, you better have an MC

    What OS are you using?
Did you install the asio drivers before, after,or during the first time you plugged in the unit?
What devices show up in Traktor in the audio device options?
Can you use the device “just as controller” while using let’s say, ASIO4ALL, as a test?
Can you open up another audio program, for instance, Albleton Live, and see if the denon shows up as an Audio Interface?
If all else fails, I would try unistalling the audio interface driver, (if it is there), and then re-installing.
Windows 7, is not “supposed” to require you to use the same USB port, as the initial install. However, occasionally with audio devices, strange things happen when not using the same port.

When the option to select the manufacturer of my controller came up, I clicked on ‘Denon’. Then the next list of options has the model, it has a handful of different Denons, the HC4500, X1600, MC6000 etc, but no MC3000? I tried selecting the MC6000 option, with this, certain buttons worked. The navigation
knob worked, the load track A/C button worked, but the load B/C button didn’t? The main problem though is that there is no audio, from the main out or the head phones. I have tried different options in the audio set up, and also in the output routing.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks.

is there an audio driver that you need to install first? one that may have came on a disk with the controller or is DL’able from the denon site.
audio interfaces need a driver 🙂

they’re vtt 101s, and the crossfader is from one of them. I like the vtt 101 cf, because it has curve, which is advanced feature for such an inexpensive controller.

the mk2 has a built-in audio interface. I was not impressed with the interface, there were frequent audio drop outs when loading a track. the regular imix as controller is very good though. there are some options for budget audio interfaces, and one thing I am sure of is that I want my controller and my interface separate. the reason for this is because I will use the interface for things other than djing, recording, sampliing, etc.
as for headphones, in todays world, i think there are many in ear options that for me at least, are preferable to headphones.

ok, let’s see if I can help. I love languages. I love words and phrases. i learn new languages easily. i have never learned any chinese. i have, however, listened to it quite a bit, just to see if any patterns emerge. just as the romans, nicknamed arab communities “barbarians” because when they listened to them speak they continually heard the sound “bar..bar..” When I listen to chinese, I hear the sound “che” or phonetically “shay..shay..” Don’t take that to mean it’s some sort of knock or insult, cause it ain’t. I love listending to chinese being spoken, it’s beautiful.
The “che” or more aptly “shay” sound is very likely what europeans heard and the reason behind the word “che-nese”
My theory is to embrace what we are. Find what speaks to the soul, and run with it. That sounds seem to be very tightly woven into the fabric of the chinese language, so why not build your name around the most integral of phonetics, because I think that one syllable probably speaks to people on a deeper or subconscious level.

the color grean is symbolized in romance languages by veritas, verde(spanish & italian), verite, verdad, etc.
the implications here are not only the color green, but the color of “life” and therefore the color of “true” “truth” “genuine” & “real”

your name means “of the window” or probably more likely at some point in history it meant “of the door” or even more likely it meant “of the gate” which means that at some point in your italiano heritage, your family lived near or by the town’s gate. they probably worked the gate, and were literally the gatekeepers. which is the implication of your name.

i guess, as usual, I’m the odd one here who says I get motivated by the equipment. I look at it and say, “ok, what can I make it do that it ain’t supposed to be able to do”

yep, I agree. it’s a challenge to go small but not too small.
these are old-style slots around the edges jogs. More modern controllers use what could be thought of as “mouse sensor agianst a ‘tick printed’ ring”
However, I’ve come up with a way to do infinite, which is actually quite simple. I’m surprised nobody else ever thought of it, but unless I can get some real funding, it won’t get made.
