MemberTried those “play – pause” ideas! Didnt look too good. Then its also the D thing. I understand where you might be coming from as Δ is the greek letter Delta which to me, being Greek is automatically assumed to be a D, but as you might have discovered by now, this association will not be made by most of the people seeing the logo.
And then it hit me: a nice, simple idea, which can also lead to a more “simple” secondary logo out of the whole name logo which will definitely help your “branding”, incorporate the play-pause buttons and get rid of the Delta D, all in one.
One question before Im done though, are you absolutely sure about that bottom third color: cant say I agree aesthetically but hey, its your logo!softcore
MemberD-Jam is of course right in his suggestions. Provided I havent worked with vectors that much and Dayvue contacted me personally to ask for the logo, I created a ridicilusly huge (in both size and pixel resolution) logo he can use. Of course I’m not a proffesional designer so Im sure the pros can spot some mistakes. 😉
Dayvue, Hope you like it! 😉 Its in png format so that you can drop it on any background 😉
Oh emmmm, if you dont know how to resize the damn thing to a sensible size, let me know and I’ll send you smaller images!softcore
MemberDoes Numark Cue have midi synchronisation to external devices? If so you could use a virtual midi cable and sync the two programs via midi.

MemberI understand you are talking about 3 bands crossfaders and not 3 channels – individual crossfading for “lows”, “mids” and “highs” (similar to that Pioneer mixer, cant recall the model)
If so, Its fairly easy to set up one….
Create 3 send tracks ( the ones that are named “return” in Live)….Insert linear EQ effect in all three of them. Ableton’s own EQ 8 can do the trick.
Rename these tracks to “low”, “mid”, “high” in order to see where you are at.
In “low” go to the EQ and apply a low pass filter – choose the frequency to be close to what you’d like to be your “lows”…Note the frequency specifically.
Go to “mid” send track….apply a high pass filter with fequenct and Q exactly the same as the low pass of the “lows” EQ. Also enable a second filter on the EQ and apply a low pass filter to where you d like your “highs” to be cut off.
Go to “high” send track – apply a high pass filter on the same frequency and Q you set the “mids” low pass.If you are following we have created 3 send tracks, each one allowing certain “bands” of audio spectrum to pass through, named “low”, “mid”, “high”.
Create two audio tracks, “Audio track A” and “audio track B” and make sure you configure their outputs to “send only”. Configure your midi controller mappings so that a fader’s movement causes “audio track A” send 1 level to rise and “audio track B” send 1 level to lower and vice-versa (done by setting the min and max values in mappings reversed in one of the tracks, preferably the second one) – this will be your “low” crossfader.
Do the same for send 2 and send 3.The end result is two audio tracks (your decks), and three band crossfaders, “low”, “mid”, “high”.
This is just one way of doing it – it all depends on how you want to organise your set actually.
You can also go crasy afterwards and apply effects to only specific bands, since they remain seperated in three distinct send channels – delay in hi hats only anyone? 😉

MemberTransfer your tracks from your external hard drive to your local – try again, results? 😉
Also, what soundcard are you using?

MemberYeah! It’s kida weird that a forum for DJs lets you embed media from youtube, vimeo and Facebook and not Soundcloud and Mixcloud.

Things I like:
-efficiency
-clear-pleasing screen
-it simply works without problemsThings I dont like:
-always have to have it plugged when DJing, its battery wont last at all
-Doesnt seem to be a sturdy device, I fear if I ever drop it, it will break to pieces, so Im extra cautious with it
-a bit heavy and the screen looks a bit large in the DJ Booth (15.6″) but that was my decision for having a clear look on my software
-stupid HP logo light in front, I have covered it with a sticker because it seemed like a “Hey, I want to be a Mac, am I close?” thingsoftcore

-I am proberbly too old for this game and should sell my stuff and do something else?
-Nowdays there is no fun left in DJ’ing, pushing autosync and no joggs, bah!– I dont scratch. As 99.999% of techno DJs don’t – even when they were playing vinyls. In fact, besides Carl Cox who sometimes does the “vinyl reversing” thing, I havent listened to any other DJ of this genre using scratching.
-No you are definitely not. If you have fun that is and you get the crowd going when you play, thats all it matters (to me anyway). It seems to be, the real problem starts when YOU think you are getting older and perhaps that explains your rush sometimes to “bash” anything new – take this as a friendly note, and not as comment to bash you, sincerely. Relax and enjoy man, noone is forcing you to get new digital stuff if your stuff is working for you and noone is bashing you for being “old” , so you dont have to bash the new. 😉
-I can assure you I get plenty of fun, without joggs and with pre-synced tracks (using Ableton Live). You can take my word for it – or not. 😉

MemberI voted very often – most of the times but I need to clarify….I use my ears and not a key-detection software. I can easily spot clashing keys of tracks by ear and I always get disgustes if two tracks in mix are “out of tune”. In that sense, I use harmonic mixing but i dont follow any “rules” or “wheels” as these are imposed by various “in key” programs. Just by ear!

MemberOne of the most “raw” monitors on the planet – after the NS 10s. Prepare yourselves for uber-dissapointment of released tracks when using them – they do not forgive, they do not compliment.
Actually what they say about the NS 10s, “if it sounds good on NS 10s, it sounds good everywhere” could be applied to these too.
edit: and in case Im misunderstood by fellow DJs, nope I dont mean they are bad, I mean they are very good (for production, since they expose all the imperfections)
