I would make sure that the Behringer BCD will work with your computer/OS before buying. I have read numerous complaints about their drivers and a failure to update them. My laptop came with Vista (yuck!) and at the time Behringer had no plans to make compatible drivers, but that was a while ago. It helped me decide on a Total Control + external soundcard

Sounds like you learned a few things and hopefully made some good contacts.
Also sounds like you are the one who appeared most professional! Hope you managed to have some fun while at it…

    FYI
I never do a gig without my own gear and have learned to mix in my headphones because it seems like monitors are always having problems…

I am using Deckadance, too. They are always doing updated and fixing bugs.
I like the samplers and the VST host (when it works right). The multi band compressor VST really makes the bass sound louder and hit hard!

    Any updates?
My Numark totalcontrol has button problems too…
Was looking at replacing it w/ a Mixtrack

What I do is bring a cd player and an external mixer w/ my computer then I can throw a CD on if I want. Having a CDJ ready with a track incase the computer crashes is also priceless…

I have been using a Numark Control (total control/stealth control) with an external soundcard for the last 3 years and have really enjoyed it. The play/cue buttons are the membrane type and are wearing out though. The jogs are too small to scratch with but it has a great selection of knobs and is a great size.

The Reloop Mixage series has caught my eye, but I may try to repair my current unit since my gigs are only paying about $100/week now
