A good ear and knowing your sound setup.also listen to people that might also no that your sound levels are way to high and all the base bins are clipping and it sounds shit. So many times I have bin told to get lost for pointing out base clipping is I’n real funni the next week when there replacing the base bins though muppets
If its in your budget get the S/H s4 if not get a new s2 I got the s2 and love it I am just gettin to grips with the cue points and effects at the moment but soon be throwing in some samples. Nice audio out also on the s2 very clear with nice smooth base through my setup much beter than the omni I used before. ( omni) great solid controller by the way.
I have had the S2 since release and I am getting pretty comfy with it now its a nice size and i like the feel of it,it has plenty to keep you busy yet it’s quiet simple if you want it to be. Good controller works well with traxtor 2
It’s old now but still avalible new and will do loads with traxtor pro and 2 its the numark omni control. Will work along side a x1 for easy effects and samples and had a built in sound card . £ 149 new take a look very solid metal chassis perfect for beginners at a low cost. I had one for 2 years and loved it. I don’t think there is much this cheep but solid in design but I could be rong.

I don’t need any tools ( controller) that I can’t use so for me the s2 is spot on I can use all the functions and its pretty up to date with what’s goin on in the digital world.
