    I would say watch Carl Cox. Does not matter what kit he uses – he mixes beautifully and in a way that you can see and understand what is going on.

    remember to enjoy it.

    If DJing becomes a chore then you should only do it if you are making more money than other things.

    I DJ for fun and only that. When I have been paid I have looked at that as a bonus, but not important to me.

    Depends whether this is a career or a passion

    The first couple I put up on Soundcloud I added a full track list as I felt that was the right thing to do – credit the guys that made the music.  The second mix got taken down at the request of skint records though….I am sure track lists are not what gets things taken down but there are people that do think that they are,  so I don’t put track lists up anymore for soundcloud.

    Selfish, yes.  Pointless…maybe, but I was pretty annoyed when my mix was taken down after hundreds of plays and lots of good feedback.

    really liking it so far, some beautiful deep bassy sounds in there and a great pounding feel to a lot of it.

    Only thing I didn’t like as much was the first mix, I didn’t think those sounds went well enough for a long mix, but that is just my taste, nowt else.  Overall I really like it.

    I have used refurbs before, though can’t speak with authority here as I have not purchased DJ gear like his.  However, for other devices i have had no issuess

    Thanks Terry.

    I did see one of them and it made my wallet scream, so I just can’t justify such a spend right now.  Wobbling would seriously annoy me though…it’s one of the reasons I thought to start this thread as I suspected there would be good feedback from people here that have actually used these things.

    I am hoping someone out there has tried a cheaper stand that you missed somewhere along the way and says it is just perfect!

    if the systemsis a proper big sound system in a club (they don’t all sound crisp and clear btw) then try to avoid letting the basslines wrestle with each other.   Some sounds you could get away with to a much higher degree on a small home system could sound messy on a big rig.

    first thing you need to do is download and run memtest (needs installing on disk and boot order changed to boot from cd).

    Make sure it is is fun, not a chore.  Otherwise the magic will fade.
