    This is my current music production setup>>

    1) A Laptop [I use it for DJing and Producing]
    2) Ableton Live 9 Suite
    3) A Pair of Home Stereo Speakers
    4) A Comfortable pair of Headphones
    5) A Shure SM-58 Microphone.

    This setup has worked quite well for me till now. I am just about to buy either the Novation Launchkey Mini or the Akai MPK Mini. And, Once I save up enough, I will buy a good soundcard like the Numark DJ io. Since I won’t be recording any acoustic instruments, that will give me good quality output as well as complete my DJ setup.

    I play Progressive-House, Tech-House, Deep House, Disco and sometimes go with Trance.

    I love Deep House and Progressive Trance. Yeah right. Weird Combo.

    Mostly, I spend money on Tech-House. That’s kind of my signature genre.

    I look for club-shakin’, speaker-pounding kick drum. “Nothing But The Beat…”

    Can I also use a MIDI keyboard controller with the DJ software like traktor of virtual dj pro?

    Hello DJ Vintage,

    I’m am a 14-year-old who just wants to be a bedroom DJ that occasionally performs at various functions, So I cannot afford too Hi-Fi gear. I would say that my budget is roughly around 100$. That also is for the full setup, not just for the mixer/soundcard. Can you please explain the difference between a live sound mixer and a DJ mixer?

    What I am basically looking for is a setup which will help me to remix and edit some songs, record new ones and help play these live. I found that these ones are my best bet if I am to buy a good pair of speakers as well. I really appreciate your help, thanks a lot.
