Phil could you tell me how the course would differ from say qberts scratch university??

will there be controler specific techniques that will help those of us who are perhaps stuggling to convert real turntalbist techniques into something that would work on a controler?

The club I play at is having a real resurgence at the moment, it is one of the biggest and longest running club nights in the UK 20 years + and is a club I used to go religiously before I got my slot playing there.

It was amazing from the early 2000’s right the way through to about 2008, i’ve DJ’ed on an off their for the last 10 years and went back as a resident about 3 years ago and felt the club was in decline compared to when I first started partying and playing I gave up the residency as I wasn’t really feeling it.

I went back as a monthly resident at the start of the year and its amazing again, it’s like a whole new generation have embraced it and I’m sure the customers are having the time of their lives, its great to see the club get back to its former glory and I couldn’t enjoy working there again more.

We’re pulling 1900-2200 ever Saturday night and that’s without big name DJ’s ( a policy the club took up a few years ago.)

Young people will always want to go out and party it think the club just needs to create the best possible atmosphere to do that in and people will come.

I DJ for mates for free because i love to play out you get to be the star of the party and it raises my profile if there are potential future employers out there.

thats for house partys ect, if it was for a club or an event where someone was making some money then i would want to make some money from it

I can’t see the purpose or point of a DJ licence. It sounds like some form of scam/ money for nothing. Unless its for thinks like public liability for mobile guys it seems pointless!

Just stick at jick, sure the equipment can make things easier but easy isn’t always good when your learning!

Picking your tracks is what it’s all about and you are obviously young and I’m sure your parents love you and will support you as best as they can,

Not everybody is lucky to have rich parents, mine certainly weren’t, just tick at it, get your bits of equipment when and where you can, pick up second hand bits from eBay and just keep building your kit,

Phil has written a piece of sync select DJ’s which digital DJ’ing does in it’s most basic sense promote, these kids will just be hitting there sync buttons, you can concentrate on music selection and building your music library

I regularly speak to the crowd, i play in chill out rooms in big clubs mainly so do lots of comedy routines and crowd interaction. it goes down really well

I would admit though i wouldn’t want to hear it from a big room house/EDM DJ as it would ruin the vibe of the club
