ParticipantBIG UPDATE – Serato have anounced it will be supporting the N4 in the summer, and I have now got the option to trade my N4 in for either a mc3000 or a TM2/4.. I think the TM2 will be a better option as it has an aux input so can still get a cdj off it (is this correct) and its Serato ready so my software I have purchased will work straight away! TM4 is more expensive and I can’t justify wanting 4 channels for a long while.. The MC3000 is another option and it uses VDJ and traktor so a chance to try traktor or go back to VDJ.. What does anyone think?

ParticipantI would IF i had a mac, unfortunately until I get my terminal mix 4 I cant use serato to record, is there any windows based software to do this?

ParticipantI signed up to DigitalDJPool.com its cheap and its updated daily and its only like £7 a month, I checked out DJ city its good but its a bit pricey for me atm as I havent played out live yet but in the coming months I will.

ParticipantI contacted serato and they said it would update the situation, next thing I know its been back dated even further! Waiting for a response from the company I had brought my n4 from now as I want the Reloop more only downside compared to the n4 is that it isnt a standalone mixer but it has a few more features to make it better overall!

ParticipantStill waiting for my N4 to be supported, maybe getting the terminal mix 4 now anyway, the company i purchased my n4 from will take it back plus some more dosh for the reloop controller!

Participant+1 on trying Serato, its a better software for the Mixtrack Pro 2 IMO. I was looking at the mixtrack pro 2 for my first big controller from the much smaller Hercules mp3 E2 so I would defiantly try Serato Dj Intro and i’m sure you will enjoy that more than VDJ!

ParticipantCheers mate, will have a look into that 🙂 Need you (100%) is an absolute banger I agree!

ParticipantI did a google search and march is the end of their winter so fingers crossed its here before June, want to get this up and running so I can mix and record!
Update – Numark has got back to me but sadly can’t shed any light on this, We are waiting for Serato to announce something I emailed them yesterday so its just a waiting game now for their response.

ParticipantWell I hear its spring they are rolling the updates out for this controller and other intros so I will have to wait and see otherwise Intro will be my software for gigging :/
Winter 2013 is apparently from december 2012 till around march/april 2013 according to online sources so lets hope its about a month wait not an 8 month one!

ParticipantSerato is my software of choice (that I have foolishly brought when my N4 isnt supported yet) and it plays through my controller via my software of course and I have just purchased 4 speakers of a total output of over 1000w and a 1000w amp so that should do me well for most gigs and if bigger I can use the venues stuff 🙂

I purchased the full version of Serato today but its not compatible with the N4 till winter 2013 apparently :/ Its almost summer so when must they mean? Otherwise i’ve wasted money and cant use my controller, any help will be most appreciated 🙂

ParticipantI got an i3 Hp laptop running Serato DJ with a Numark N4 and my CPU lags half as much as it did when I was running VDJ , this may not have been my fault maybe the version of VDJ I was running but I3 is powerful enough for giging.

ParticipantI have learnt to dj on VDJ so know it well and it does the job well but for my controller Serato is seamless and seems to work also auto its a very easy software to use as you mention Terry and is fast becoming my fave software and for £89 to upgrade serato intro I think its worth it to unleash the full power of my controller!

ParticipantI think its a good choice so lets hope in around 6/8 months time I will be gigging with it, should arrive by tomorrow lets hope! I got a good deal on one that was a customer demo used once so still has the peel able plastic on which I intend on keeping on! Now my next decision is software.. Serato or VDJ..
