MemberI know someone who dj’s with a mask on, and he’s been quite successful. Even though he is not as good as some other local dj’s that are unmasked… but these ‘better’ dj’s are forgotten when the night is over.

MemberI started Dj’ing when i was 13 too 😀 but I learnt to beat match from the start as I had CDJ’s not digital software. Anyway I can tell you that you need to learn to beatmatch by ear… its pretty much a vital skill. as Yuki said, I’ts whats makes us Dj’s, Anybody can press a sync button and stand there.
I also was eager to get out and start giggin by the time I was 14, but I just kept practicing… now by 18th birthday is in 2 weeks and I’l finaly start Djing properly.

MemberI have Duo 2… I can always record with a second laptop but I was just wondering the best way to do it with one.
Do you happen to know the reason why the sound drops out for 1-2 seconds every few minutes? Its crystal clear for the rest

MemberI’ve just noticed when I select the correct mappings under controller management, when I close and re-open preferences it has reverted to ‘Pro 2 default’…. never has done this before?

Memberyeah thats what I did to set it up the first time around and it worked fine, but now it wont respond still. Its playing music through the controller as I can use traktor with my keyboard shortcuts… don’t know what else to try 🙁

MemberSub bass is quite a interesting topic! Its a good job your brought it up 🙂
Seiza
MemberSub bass is found most electronic genre’s. I have heard soft sub bass in house and electro, though the more stand out sub bass is within the likes of Garage, Jungle or most DnB tracks & and of course Dubstep where it is a essiential part of the track. You should research what songs have it to improve your knowledge of it, if you find it hard to pick out the sub however, turn the high and the mid’s all the way down. This will leave only the bass and everything will be clearer. To create my sub bass i just have a single sine wave that is turned down 3-4 octaves. You will want to give the sub the slightest attack time, if it is set to 0.0ms you will hear a click at the start of it so 2.0ms should be good. Sustain and decay all maxed, and no release at all.

MemberI use sub bass in every track i create, tracks that do not have any sub bass sound like there really missing something. I normaly do no apply any sub bass to my kicks because i actualy remove it all through EQ around 0-50hz but that still leaves enough bass for the punch which is around 50-120hz. I only use sub bass to back up my bassline or a meoldy within the track, if the kick has it also they cancels each other out. In the end though it depends what your going after and what genre you are creating.
