It is also found in your Traktor prog under Help

As for the S2 I could not find it on NI’s site but your S2 should be shipped with some kind of DVD or CD containing the
ASIO drivers and Manual for your S2 Controller??

As for the FX problem I am sorry but I can not help you as I hasn’t tested the S2 myself.
It might be a good idea to ask on Native Instruments Site?

No disc with an ASIO driver was shipped with the s2 the only disc sent was to install traktor 2, Thanks for your time and help.

It indicates that you have something running on your computer (PC?)
If you run A PC you must turn everything that is not needed to run Traktor off!
Also you need to be sure to run ASIO driver for S2.

    Cross fader
    2) when I play a song on deck A.. the sound comes out normally, like you would expect but when I move the fader toward decks B (right) there is no sign of as fading.. the sound is just as loud when the cross fader is on deck A to when it is on deck B.
The same goes for deck B, exactly the same problem just the other way round.
So I think there must be a problem with the cross-fader..
If there is no knob on the S2 for x-fader curve (wich I do not think there is)
In Traktor settings/Mixer there is a setting for crossfader curve smooth/sharp
    Set it to smooth!

    Fx
when I play a song in deck B..I went to hit one of the fx.. I noticed that the wet/dry was lighting up fine.. along with fx 2 and 3.. but when I hit fx number 1 there is no light..

When I play a song in deck A.. when I hit the fx number 1 it lights up.. aswell as 2 and 3.. but the wet/dry button does not light up..

When not lighting up, try setting the knob Wet/Dry to zero and then up against 100%
It is also a setting in Traktor
You need to carefully read the Traktor and S2 Manual!!

    Cue

So when a track is playing on deck A.. I want to cue a track for deck B..All I hear in my headphones is the song on deck A ( I haven’t even hit a cue button.. all cue buttons are off) yet I still hear deck A.. I can barely hear the song I want to cue ( deck B)

all of these problems are very annoying I have been watching videos on this controller for ages.. just wishing that I could own it.. I know have it and its just a pain in the ass.. 🙁
On the right hand of the plug for the headphone there is two knobs.
One is for HP volume and the second is for cue/mix.
You need to turn that knob to zero = 100% cue!
    Again READ THE MANUALS!

Should I send it back to the shop or am I doing something wrong? please help
If you can not read the manual, it seems like this unit is too much for you as you have soo many issues that all has been solved if you only had read the manual! You also can gain more of your equipment if you get a copy of the Traktor bible!
I am convinced that there is nothing wrong with your S2 at all, if there is a real issue it would be your PC
but it is not likely that there is something wrong with that eather. Just a case of you beeing to eager to start playing before reading the manuals and making the right settings that suets your needs!

I hope that my suggestions is of help.

    Hi Dj Hessler,

Thanks for taking the time to help me, much appreciated!
I think you are right, I need to slow down and sort it out myself. I was very eager to get this baby sorted and start playing, pretty understandable for anybody who has been waiting for Christmas to come and has now finally received an item he has wanted for a long time.
The only manual I received in the box was the set up guide, this does not go into detail about the controller, it just helps you install Traktor and the basic steps of the kontrol s2.

thank you for the tip with the cue vol and cue mix really helped and I have got it sorted now.
My crossfader was already set to smooth but I still had the same problem. I then fixed it by going into Preferences > mixer > select “crossfader” ( virtual crossfader appears on screen) then assign “a” to “c” and “b” to “d”

I still have a problem with my fx, I am pretty sure no fx are actually coming out when I hit a button, I have tried what you told me to do and nothing still the same..

if you have any ideas please write back, I am still trying to work it out..

Now that is simply not true!
MC3000 is a very good controller and IMO a better one than S2.
S2 has not got the same quality in build, chassies, and hardware (knobs buttons jogwheels)

Thank you for helping me, I haven’t used or tryed any of these controllers. It was feedback I received from a DJtechtools user. Thanks for sharing your opinion. I appreciate it
