ParticipantI’ve gone all digital but about a month ago purchased a pair of turntables for scratching and such. Got the itch that I just had to scratch…

ParticipantWell you can use any equipment really cause a DVS system (Serato Scratch Live/Traktor Scratch Pro) is still a viable option for turntables and CDJs, that being said, there’s a reason why Technics has stopped producing turntables…vinyl is basically dead. EDM is dominated by CDJs or laptops but if you have an interest in turntablism or scratching then Turntaqbles can’t be beat.

ParticipantI often find obscure tracks that I didn’t think I could get (legally) anywhere, at Juno Download.

ParticipantThats a question that only you will be able to answer, depending on your preference.

ParticipantIYo ucan always call your credit card company to reverse the transaction. If it’s too late then there is usually some sort of consumer protection with your credit card to stop you being liable to pay it back.
Steelo
ParticipantYeah your specs are pretty low. Lucky laptops are pretty cheap these days!

ParticipantIs it really necessary to have ANOTHER thread about this? Soon we will be doing the vinyl vs cd vs laptop argument.

ParticipantI think you would be fine. I believe they hae to ask you to remove it first and If you cooperate I don’t think you can get in any trouble. I’ve seen a 1001 club flyers with semi-copied logo’s and never heard of any trouble.

ParticipantNo easy/affordable way around this without completely cutting the bass or using headphones. Sorry.

ParticipantI’ve always been a bit suspiscious of VBR MP3s. I avoid them although I have nothing to really base this off except what other people have said. I have a feeling the tracks I’ve had issues with in the past may have been VBR. Some people swear you can here changes in sound quality when VBR tracks are played on a decent system but I’m yet to hear it myself as I don’t use them.

Something tell me I should wait…I would definitely try it out. You can always rollback to the previously installed version without any harm. Just export your preferencese settings before you update.

What laptop you running this on? I’m interested as many people are reporting that the load is much lower on this compared to any updates after 2.0.3.
I’ve already pre ordered my F1…can’t wait!

ParticipantThats just one of the skills that separates a good DJ from a great DJ. There’s many factors that come in to it such as the time you play, the venue, the crowd, the genre/s, the crowds reactions etc.
Steelo
ParticipantAgreed!

ParticipantThe worst thing about being a DJ is how conscious you are of bad mixing. I’ll be pout with my friends at the club and you’ll hear some atrocious mixing but none of the other punters notice. It eats away at me if its really bad.
