So after a pretty in depth play with my F1…I’d definitely recommend it. Sooooo much fun! So many possibilities.

ParticipantI believe they did integrate some HID but possibly for only some devices. Mostly Pioneer equipment I believe.

ParticipantWell these are consumer headphones for listening to your ipod but generally if you’re on a strict budget, entry level Sennheisers are about the best you’ll get
Steelo
ParticipantThey are all solid units. Would you say the ipad is at that level yet though? I feel like its still got some way to go. Its really more of a “on the side” controller IMO.

ParticipantOr check out a tutorial at traktor bible

ParticipantI don’t want to be that guy…but I will anyways. Check your manual or the NI website support section. Its all there clear as day.

ParticipantJust be careful with the keylock. A great tool if used properly (although I don’t find myself ever really using it much) but its easy to make the audio sound bad if you stretch it too much.

ParticipantThe actual account itself is meant to be real people, not aliases or whatever. So yep making yourself a page is the way to go.

ParticipantThings have certainly changed and I guess you could say that beatmatching isn’t a prerequisite for the job anymore but I still believe its a valuable skill that allows us to be more spontaneous in the mix, get us out of hairy situations with messed up beatgrids and things as simple as keeping the music playing during the changeover of DJs.

ParticipantIts an entry level scratch mixer. Decent sound but a weak fader thats notorious for breaking with any actual scratching, mixing should be ok though. I have a feeling it only has phono inputs so make sure this will suit you. that probably means no digital gear apart from DVS systems.

I’ve had to do a whole set like this, back in the day. The headphone jack thingy stopped working in the mixer. Its interesting but doable.

Was sounding great until the can’t be worn around neck comment. Deal breaker for me. Ah well. My Sennheiser HD 25-1 ii’s do smashingly for me.

So far the F1 is the only way to get full functionality out of the remix decks. I just sucked it up and got one. I might post a video or atleast some picks in a bit.

To add a litte more to this thread, i come from a big town where clubs play lets say tracks you usually find on top charts progressive and electro. Now i got posted (military) to this small town, where the club djs arent that great at all (this is why i started learning djing, just to stop bitching about them and become one myself) and the music they play… Imagine a dj putting in a tao cruz cd, hitting play n repeat… Ok maybe not that bad but you get the picture. Knowing a lot of good people, i could get a gig pretty easily, but im still too unsure of myself to do it right away, and even tho i know i have good music taste, im afraid people wont enjoy themselves until i play those radio hits… Wich sometimes i can hear 2 to 3 times a night
Anyone has this problem?
This kind of story in unfortunately all too common. If thats what the crowd is always satisfied with then you might be stuck with crap music but maybe they will appreciate something different?
