ParticipantAgreed. DJ in front is a little 90’s. Much classier without. I do like Elixr though. Even if theres DJs with similar names , are they really impacting your life that much? Unless they are spinning in the same city and circles I wouldnt worry about it.

ParticipantIf I had the cash to burn I would probably buy that same setup too.

ParticipantOh I see the problem. Having Avicci – Levels in your playlist isn’t supported by any reputable software…
Just joking…kind of. Unfortunately as Rob stated above, Traktor and iTunes don’t play too well together but I’m really not sure what the problem is as you could just use the track collection list to find tracks.Steelo
ParticipantDaft Punk – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger: a nice easy one that always gets a good reaction and can be thrown on to practically everything.
Delerium – Silence: always elevates tunes to a new level.
Green Velvet – La La Land: is great for the slightly older club kids and ravers.Steelo
ParticipantWhilst price wise they are very different, they actually will operate very similar if running HID. I’m making the assumption that you run Traktor as it would be the logical choice for the equipment mentioned above. Thats also assuming that you would be running a software setup too. The S4 does have the ability to do a little more effects wise (ie chaining effects) but that’s not to say the 900 mixer doesn’t have pretty solid effects too.

I propose another model, which is in the same price league as the Pioneer: Technics RP DJ 1200 (A). IMO they sound much better than all of the models in the OP, plus (although I can’t comment on that from personal experience, only having tried them out at the store) you hear great things about their reliability and durability. Something you can’t say about the Pioneers.
These are good, solid headphones which I gigged with for a few years but for your price range I would say the Pioneers still. Pioneer had looked at and addressed their problems with durability (as far as we can tell so far). Pioneer have come a long way with their headphones.

I usually only take my midi fighter for Club gigs, for mobile gigs depending on the style of gig i may bring it but often i dont use it.
However…i agree with Steelo…it is an amazing piece of equipment and i am so happy i invested in it.
Any chance you’d like share your mapping (for us lazy mappers ie me)?

Can you bridge it with Traktor? Isn’t it bridged with Itch only? Traktor is so cheap now its not a bad investment to hold on to even if you use it infrequently. There might be times when you just want to grab a set of tunes and spin without any thinking. Traktor suit perfectly.

ParticipantThats just the house equipment at the club. Most of that probably stays put most of the time. I find it crazy that we have made all these advances in equipment but they still haven’t figured out how to get rid of the giant piles of cables.

For me personally Sennheiser. I haven’t tried the Aiaiai TMA-1’s but everyone seems to be going on about them. Except they don’t have rotating hinges which is a deal breaker for me. Regardless, they weren’t one of the options above. I still say out of those the Pioneers for sure. They will smoke the red waves in every department.

ParticipantYou could check out this course:
http://ohdratdigital.com/totalmusicproductioncourse/Its reasonably priced, requires no money to get started producing and they have done the groundwork to find a great selection of free software, loops and effects.

ParticipantThe Ergo is a consumer toy thats riding on the brand name. For Traktor nothing is as tight as the S2/S4
Steelo
ParticipantPioneer ones for sure. The red waves are average at best, reloop has little experience or history with headphones and Behringer is just nasty cheap garbage (mostly).

ParticipantIf nothing else, this experience will improve your overall DJ skill set so it can’t be a bad thing.

ParticipantI picked up a cheap Iriver MP3 player a while back that has line-in recording. Works a treat. I’ve seen a few other people with them in the booth too.
