I use it the other way around, I loop the incoming track so its perfect in sync when the outgoing track comes to a stick or breakdown, and if you´re mixing in key, you can start fading in the new track long before the real mix.
The loop is also useful for mashup mixing when U need to extend a overlay track.
What ever you do, don´t loop the outgoing tune because you´re not ready, that´s just embarrassing….Better than the music stopping, trainwrecking or just being completely out of time. You can also makes some nice longer blends and stuff like that.

ParticipantDo whatever works for you dude. There’s no right or wrong way if the mix is sounding good then its all good.

ParticipantI’m guessing you’ll find it more in lounges/bars as opposed to clubs unless you find specific nights.

ParticipantDisabling dual core support (seems to be a useless function that does nothing to improve anyones experience) won’t help with volume levels at all. It might reduce pops and clicks if you’re having latency issues. Have you turned off the additional headroom in preferences? I have this off but my master set to -10db which gives me the headroom i need and still be able to crank things up.

Thats a pretty brave move…I often find auto gain can be off quite a bit sometimes

ParticipantThe mixtrack pro is a great beginner unit but now a whole world of possibilities has opened up to you

ParticipantAs far as the design goes, the S4 is pretty spot on. NI can just make new native maps or update firmware to add more features. The only reason I think they would release anything else would be to make something more durable (similar to the VCI-400) or reduce size but keep the features.

ParticipantWhere abouts are you located?

Participantjust buy a controller with large and decent jogwheels and you’ve covered the only advantage CDJs have over controllers IMO.

ParticipantI looked in to this but surprisingly couldn’t really find anything else…went back to the good old towel

ParticipantLoop an acapella and add a few effects and people go crazy

ParticipantThere’s plenty of great electro out there…it just seems the terrible stuff is whats big at the moment.

ParticipantI went with the S4 as I wanted tight Traktor integration but the build quality was a concern for me also. The VCI-400 was my second choice. Its a really nice controller. After using a few different brands, I find Vestax is doing things right. If I had an excuse to buy another main controller I would be grabbing the VCI-400. I would see if you can test some stuff out but if not its a great choice.

ParticipantIs there a volume control on your S2 as well? I have an S4 and the volume control on it runs independent of Traktor so I can set what ever I want for my main and gains and then boost that using that volume knob.
