ParticipantWell said Phil! I guess at the end of the day, people get caught up in all these wild new features when realistically they may very infrequently or never use them. I’m guilty of this as I always crave the latest and greatest even if I realistically don’t need it…more for self gratification than anything.

ParticipantI would give the EP (or atleast a few tunes) away for free to some of the bigger music blogs. You will get a tonne of exposure. Once you get this exposure and a following its a lot easier to get a label to notice you. What sub genre(s) have you produced? I spend hours searching music blogs so I would be happy to try and direct you to some good choices. Always happy to hear some new unknown stuff too if you got a link?

ParticipantAlthough this doesn’t really answer your question, I would honestly consider turning auto gain off. As Phil stated, it will serve you better if you use non digital gear. I’ve also found in my experience, as long as you get your music from reputable (read: legal) places, the volume will be the same the vast majority of the time.

ParticipantI guess if I really had a big enough budget I would design my own controller from the ground up that is perfect

ParticipantNow you need gigs and groupies!

Think about it did any djs before 2000 odds use such pre programmed ideals? Maybe naturally but then was it something you planned out??? Oh it must be in key???? No never its natural that goes with that and that’s it, or maybe it doesn’t you know what I mean though, key pffffff lol
Whilst I get what you’re saying, it is one way to open up more possibilities with your set ie control or elevate the energy.

ParticipantI’m using the default settings for the F1, truth be told I don’t think I’ve even looked at them in the preferences. I haven’t noticed any lag or anything. I did notice that CPU load goes up slightly with key lock but I never use that garbage. I only ever have one latency setting for my Mid 2010 Macbook Pro (I think its a 2.66 i7 processor) set to a sample rate of 44.1 and off the top of my head (I’m trying to look busy at work) its at 8.7 ms latency which is 2nd lowest setting for 44.1. I like to give the load a little breathing space but don’t notice any difference from 7ish ms.

The soundcard on the S4 is totally fine…its tweaking the settings within Traktor to ensure that you are getting proper sound thats not compressed…Taking off Limiter, set your master vol to -10db, Disable Autogain, and set headroom to 0, no keylock. and you are getting proper uncompressed sound imo.
I have my audio set up exactly the same except I would also add setting the EQ to Xone too.

2.0.3 is still the lowest CPU load for me but 2.5.1 is the lowest since the last few updates. A slight tweak of latency which will be unnoticeable will get you the same load as 2.0.3

Multiplied beatmarkers working. moving song to playlist keeps default folder active. what was what was anoying me in 2.5
and the option to stop a slot rather then mute it is grate. also the ignor quantize if one shot I love so not it posible to do some drumming on my F1’s.just a basic none scientific test 2 decks 2 remix decks playin all slots all FX activated on all decks keylock and synch enabled on everything no struggle at all on my iMac 27″ 3.06 core 2 duo. 4 Gb ram
P.S. Reason and Maschine were also running in the background
Your main/master volume is too high…unless you have the headroom in preferences set to around -10db. That CPU load is about as hot as you can get it before clicks start happening so now you know you can push it.

ParticipantThus are bug repots are pretty low. Only a handful of minor things. Apparently the CPU load has been reduced quite a bit. Downloading now…

ParticipantAs others above mentioned, there’s no price comparison. A top of the range controller setup won’t even cost as much as 1 brand new CDJ-2000. Besides the flexibility with assigning controls and how something like the S4 for instance controls effects it would be tough to part with my digital gear completely but a laptop + nice mixer + set of CDJ2000s running advanced HID is pretty damn nice. Still haven’t found a controller with jogs and general layout that is completely on par with these CDJs. Many people say the Numark NS6 but please no friggin way.

ParticipantGet better + shielded USB cable would be one guess. But that’s somewhat a stab in the dark without the above questions from Terry being answered.
