MemberI only played two gigs so far during the last 3 months I’ve been doing this but I am definitely planning on getting more gigs this summer and once the semester starts back up again through social networking and working hard at promoting myself.

MemberI remember this one girl who came up me twice and requested that I play more popular songs. I could understand if this was an appropriate time such as for a top-40 crowd but NOT when I am playing baltimore club and reggae lmao

MemberUsing the Audio Technica ATH M-50s, these headphones sound amazing and work great while mixing.

Memberspeaking of bags, I’ve looked around online to see if there were any for the numark mixtrack and saw the ‘Gator G-Club Control Mixer Case’ and I was wondering if they are better bags out there for it. Carrying around the box it originally came with to gigs with the styrofoam packaging still intact inside has not been a good look for me LoL

MemberYeah I’ve noticed it becoming a lot more popular in my area too, I’m from Jersey (yeah I know haha) and everywhere you go all you hear is either electro/progressive house or dubstep. I didnt really know much about dubstep though until a friend of mine made me listen to skrillrex and once I heard that drop that was it for me haha.

MemberThe longest set I remember doing was at a college party last semester for about 6 hours (9-3am) and my shortest was 3 hours.

MemberStarted off DJ’ing with VDJ Pro 7, the software itself was awesome and easy to use. I liked how it could tell you visually what key you were in without having to purchase any other software such as ‘mixed in key.’ It served me well for some time, then I stumbled upon Traktor Pro 2.
The layout was much more organized IMHO. Having the ability to view the spectrum of the track so you know exactly when the beat drops was a nice touch along with being able to cue up two points in a track so you can remember where you should start a loop and where it should end while you are mixing. It’s definitely much more advanced like DjSpekz said and took some time to get used to but it was well worth the effort in the end 😉
