February 24, 2012 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Skrillex won a Grammy. Is this the end or new beginning for dubstep? #15596SCHIES
MemberTo be honest, I believe that this is a great opportunity for new artists to emerge within the EDM community and be recognized for their talents. Watching the Grammys I felt proud, not only for Skrillex but because it was the first time that they aired a special within the Grammys that tributed to the EDM scene.
When Foo Fighters, David Grohl, won a Grammy he said: “To me this award means a lot because it shows that the human element of music is what’s important. Singing in to a microphone and learning to play an instrument and learning to do your craft, that’s the most important thing for people to do…it’s not about what goes on in a computer.” Then he went on to perform with Deadmau5 😀
I feel that this is just the beginning, and I am looking forward to what direction EDM will take in 5-10 years from now.

MemberHey DJ Iceman, I commented on a previous video of yours and I’m glad to see you on the forums. Appreciate what you are doing! As for the battle threads I’m all for it, would definately bring in more support and competition to the forums.

Memberjustdohits – they post on a regular basis new songs that are about to be released on beatport
and give dates on when the track will be released, sometimes accompanied by videos on youtube. I highly recommend
this blog as a legit resource for digging through music. I liked the blog so much I sent a personal email telling them, something never did until I came across it.check it out here:

MemberI ordered this stand not too long ago since I first posted this question, I had the chance to test it out and I
have to say it’s a really solid stand. It has a bit of a wobble when you push down on it and locks in place via two push pins. It’s really easy to setup and is relatively light compared to what other reviewers are saying about this product. There is no adjustability however, but the positioning when it is all set up sits perfectly. There is a little incline downwards so you’ll need to tilt your screen backwards to what is comfortable for you. There is an included shelf to fit your sound-card that you can place in the front or the back below your laptop which is convenient. I was a little skeptical at first since I wondered how it would hold up the weight of my laptop and not have it collapse on me but it works well so far. I’d definitely recommend this stand if you’re in the market for one.September 16, 2011 at 2:53 pm in reply to: How Do You 'Actually' Feel When Your Work Is Criticised ? #7559SCHIES
MemberCriticism motivates me to keep pushing forward. I have friends who listen to my mixes, telling me straight up to go back and fix a part of my mix where I messed up. I mean, at first I thought I did my thing haha but they keep me motivated to go harder the next time…and I’m thankful for that.

Memberhaha nice, I actually bought mine over the weekend and I couldn’t be happier!
The X1 makes hot cueing and programming sets much more fun and enjoyable
than when I just had the mixtrack to start off with.It works well with the mixtrack but I found myself
mainly using it as mixer or when I needed to occasionally go back through
a part of a track that missed using the knobs on the x1.I started thinking of saving some money and either buy an afforable mixer that works
well in Traktor or upgrade the mixtrack to a different all in one controller like the
novation twitch, or modded vci100se from DJTT.Enjoy your X1!!

MemberHi Justin,
I’ve done some research in this area and I’ve come across two bags that you might be interested in.
M-Audio Torq Xponent Gig Bag
Gator G-CLUB CONTROL DJ Mixer Case
I made the mistake and bought a UDG Producer bag when it was on sale online but it wouldn’t fit the mixtrack.
I plan on keeping it though for the long run when I upgrade to a smaller midi controller like the VCI.Hope This Helps.

MemberMy thoughts exactly! I was thinking about purchasing the X1 not too long ago when I first bought the mixtrack. I felt something was missing from my setup and I thought this would fit in perfectly. Now that this comes bundled with traktor pro 2 for FREE there is no doubt in my mind that I will be next in line at my local Best Buy to purchase it lol

SCHIES
MemberI am a dancer, I started a few years back in high-school with a group I made with a couple of buddies of mine called ‘4xpression’. We filmed several short videos and posted them on youtube. When it was time for us to go to college we went our separate ways but we definitely still keep in contact even now after four years since we started.
