Its so versatile, like all midi gear you can make it do whatever you want 🙂

Got my eye on another Launchpad and one of the new Midi Fighters 🙂

Agree’d its an amazing app, keep all the most fundamental parts simple and easy to use.

Some good choices here guys. Mixtrack is defo a good one.

I started on a korg nano kontrol and an akai lpd8 with traktor pro. I still think its a great little set up, enough knobs for EQ’ing and faders for levels plus tons left to map for effects and macro effects.

Simplicity and minimalism is key 🙂

Yeah i am like you Digitall DJ…..been seeing it everywhere and wondering whether its worth buying…..But then i think….it be better to learn how to figure out what key its in myself. Put it this way….Guetta has had nearly all his hits produced by someone else (Joachim Garraud) because he doesnt know how to and he uses Mixed in Key (http://c441723.r23.cf2.rackcdn.com/slideDavidGuetta.png) so i think….do i wana be another Guetta 😉

By a million miles……Nadastrom…..who are Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom, 2 amazing producers. I like to call their music “Organised chaos”…..Ye baby 🙂

in reply to: Dubstep as the new norm #131

Yeah Dubstep has made a massive impact everywhere. You even hear people like Chris Brown singing and rapping over dubstep beats. I like some of it….but whats strange is alot of people hate it…..For example some of the lecturers at the music school i used to work for didnt like it. Mainly this was because its not really that musical.

Plus if you are like me and you are either learning to produce or produce regularly you will know that it is relatively simple and easy to make. Get a synth with 2 or 3 oscillators drop the pitch on one detune the other 2,add a filter LFO it and done you got a dubstep bassline!

Like most genres….it has good and bad bits…..I think however that it will just be a fad that will slowly die away soon once people get bored of the simple structure it has.
