I agree with Terry here and can also vouch for the Rockits! Plug your computer into the RCA input and have your DJ setup connect with the XLR.

Overall it was great considering you only be doing it for a few weeks. Here’s some of my opinions on what was good/could be improved:

1st mix: happy song to very dark song, too much of a transition for me
2nd mix: this worked v well, good transition and good progression in song choice
3rd mix: Good transition, good timing of mix. Good song choice again
4th mix: Tune brought in too early! This can work but “Lord” is a big tune and I expect would be better if left in for longer (They sound like they might blend well together for longer)
5th mix: Incoming percussion is too powerful so sticks out a bit, were your levels right? Good progression with song choice
    6th mix: BOOM! Great mix
7th mix: Cut the vocal which stuck out a bit too much
8th mix: Again good progression. Beatgrids aren’t perfectly aligned so its good to know how to fix that when it happens
    9th mix: Good mix
10th mix: Punchy bass on incoming song worked well here. This was a good mix. One small point for improvement is to make the vocal fade out more gradually
11th mix: Great song choice, very similar elements and key? Mix is also nice
12th mix: Percussion of incoming track is bold but this works. It was a good decision to leave the piano blending
13th mix: Good song choice. Incoming track should be gradually faded in IMO, rather than cut
14th mix: Decent mix, it works
15th mix: Decent cut, jump in energy that works
16th mix: Melodies work well here. I think the bass is a bit too punchy on incoming track during the mix
17th mix: Good song choice again, the bass drops out for a bit which is a killer on energy
18th mix: Good mix. Incoming song is too strong (Just a little)
19th mix: I think this mix works really well

I probs sound a bit harsh here but it’s all to help you improve, I personally love constructive criticism because of this. I enjoyed listening to your mix and am very impressed seen as you aint been spinnin for long so well done.

    Hello AA,

Sounds like your in a similar situation to me having put your DJ career on hold to build a family. It’s hard to shake off the rustiness isn’t it? 😛
